urgent question answers needed

k so Ive got a routine doctors appointment in 2 days and for some reason they told me I can't eat anything 12 hours before I go in this wouldn't be because theyre gonna give me a piss test would it? and if so would they look for drugs? what other reason would they not allow me to eat or drink anything for 12 hours? Ive got some nice bud here and I wanna smoke it but im worried so should I hold off or will I be cool?
 
I've done piss tests days after smoking pot (because I had a bad kidney infection) Apparantly no drugs turned up.. I don't think they test for drugs unless they have suspiscion.. but maybe that's just how they do it here in Sweden..
I would hold on to them until afterwards though.

In my experience that usually means they are gonna operate and they don't want you to vomit while unconcious because you will block you're airway and drown in you're vomit. If this is not hte case then scre them; EAT!
 
As a EMT/Nurse ill answer your question...Simple routine checkup no eating 12hrs prior means usually they will draw blood for regular tests...nothing drug related nothing to be worried about

Blood test. They're not going to do a drug screen unless someone requests it, these tests cost money to do. There's a lot of routine bloodwork that requires you to not eat for 12 hours, and come in the morning all cracked out and hungry.
 
Yeah, don't sweat it - they just want the blood to be in proper order when they run the tests for sugar levels, cholesterol, and whatever other standard tests they do on blood. No big deal. You can however drink water - but don't eat or drink or take anything - though if you do, just lie when they ask you before they take your blood.
 
If its a urine test, they could be checking for proteins in the urine, etc...
If you were being drug tested for whatever reason, I doubt they would forewarn you...

Is this a work related checkup? If not, why care if they find drugs in your system? My doc knows what's up.
