Marijuana does often cause extra anxiety though so make sure you're prepared. Also, I find that smoking before the peak isn't a good idea as it seems to interfere with the coming-up process and you never quite get to that state of clarity as intensely as without it. Smoking once you've reached the peak can be great though, although sometimes I don't because the trip tends to be clearer.
As mentioned, ginger can help. I believe something like Tums or similar might help, too, but I'm not 100% sure.
If you get nausea, try this trick though... it works in all situations, amazingly well. Press on the underside of your write with your thumb. Find the write bones, and just below that, in the center of your arm, there is a dip with a large tendon, the largest in your lower arm, slightly to the left. Just to the right of that tendon, there's a smaller tendon. Just to the right of that, there's a space without a tendon, where you can press in pretty far. On my write it's where a vein runs diagonally through my arm, right about on it to very slightly below, but it may vary by an individual's arm construction.
This is a pressure point. If you press on it solidly and hold it, your nausea pretty much instantly disappears, or dramatically lessens. If you're feeling uncomfortable, do this and it helps a lot. It's sort of a combination between reducing nausea and making it sort of "in the background" and easy to ignore.
Interesting trick that really works!
