Uppers and Downers, Up People and Down People

I despise uppers (not the people that use them) but it just isn't for me. The worst thing in the world to me is not being able to sleep or sit still, so thats why I stay away from uppers for the most part besides an occasional roll. Thats my only dislike with pyschs like LSD , (which i love to death) that end of the experience ok I'm tired lets sleep wait why cant i sleep.

That's odd, I never have any problems falling asleep after LSD. Just throw on a warm comforter and relax.

And I'm a downer person, but I like combining stimulants with downers, so I didn't know how to answer the poll.

I've found many psychedelics to be sedating in the lower doses and incredibly stimulating in higher ones.

Wow... this poll is really interesting to me. I'm in the second most popular category (down person + prefer uppers) but it's fascinating in a way that the largest category by far is "down person who prefers downers." Says something about either this day + age, or the type of people who use drugs often enough to bother with a drug-related forum.

I mean, why would a laid-back, chill person normally want to be MORE laid back + chill... but I have a feeling that the poll might have been misinterpreted to mean "depressed and trying to escape" ... in any event, it's quite interesting.

thats exactly the choice i was looking for. but as i think LSD can rather be classified as upper than downer i voted for C.
i don't like downers at all (if you don't count DMT as downer ). imho they're quite boring

Me, me... I'm normally neither 'up' nor wanting more of (much of) anything. That isn't a complaint, more of an explanation of why I like uppers.

I remember living in Tucson 1973 & attending Seconal [Lilly F-40s] parties. Holy shit!! There's nothing worse than the mess made by a bunch of people greased on barbs!! It was fuckin hilarious!!
Cigarette burns everywhere...beers [a lot of them still full...I hate that crap] all over the place...furniture busted in 1/2...TVs broken on the floor...it would look like a bomb went off in there.
Never did have 1 at our crib... ....some insane times, the 70s were.8(

For a while (since maybe my first acid trip), I've pretty much asserted that I'm so laid-back, chill, and stable, that I need insanity, and that's pretty much why I do drugs (and listen to punk music, and watch insane films and read about schizophrenia so much). I don't do any speed (sounds boring), but I drink coffee every day, I love the stimulating, adventurous aspects of psychedelics and e, and I drink for the buzz and increased conversation, not to relax. So I think that works out to uppers for a down person. I don't even like weed unless it's a very heady high with not much sedation.
