For those of you that read my thread regarding asking my psychiatrist for a oxycodone script for my anxiety/ social anxiety issues and depression I got it!!! I can't believe it either but I knew since she has prescribed it to another patient she may be open.I had to sign a contract that I would not see any other doctors, would stay at same dose, only use as needed and not run out before 30 days. I got 10mg oxycodone 30 total. I was completely honest and open with her that I had been using my script from another doctor for a injury more for my mental issues and she basically said "who am I to judge if it works for you then great I just have to very strict with your script". She also added that it should absolutely be studied and labeled for anxiety.

Obviously this is the short version of my hour long session with her and she knows me very well. I know most of you will judge but it works and what's the difference with taking anything else? I have had terrible withdrawals from almost every medication I have ever taken.
My Xanax, Valium, adderall is going in the trash where it belongs that shit was awful for me.

Anyways there are doctors that are not robots and are open to opioids.

I'm glad to hear you have an open minded doctor! :)

I personally believe a drug like buprenorphine, or oxycodone (in a very small dosage, like yours listed above) is much better for the body and mind than benzodiazepines and amphetamines.

I agree . Benzos make me a zombie and depressed and amphetamines make me feel like a complete crack head.im very lucky to have such a open minded doctor. It's perplexing to me that opioids are so frowned upon but not benzos or amphetamine..

I use Oxycodone for anxiety too, works better than any medication my Psych has ever prescribed.

No one here's judging - we're all happy for you :)

unfortunately this is not really directly related to harm reduction and is more blogs material so i'm going to have to close this
