i ve never understood people who go to see DJs and stand at the front jammed in like sardines and have no space to cut some shapes. - I mean it might be different at an Elton John gig, but im mainly talking about proper Djs playing some bangin tunes.

I actively seek out a bit of space so i can throw a few moves together without the risk of my flailing arms taking someones teeth out.

Having said that i still like having some people around to bounce the atmosphere off. So Im somewhere in the middle to rear.

^ I know :(

(or any other males wishing to share their dilemas)

Depends what the club is like. Right bang down the front in Subby can be good - Get a sneaky look at track that's playing, or show the DJ your best swedge face.

After that electric frog I was so far gone and tripping really hard in the subby that i was facing the wall to the left of the DJ booth for about an hour before I realised the DJ was on my right hand side. 2-CB at fairly high doses and strobe lighting is unbelievably disorientating.

im more towards the back kind of guy. mainly because the sound is better, the crowd more relaxed and no damn event photographers...

Bit of both really, sometimes its good to have the space like you say, other times its good to be clinging on to the barrier for dear life gurning your tits off, hands in the air for every drop etc :)

This.

I like my space and it's nice if I petit-mal to be able to hit the floor and have someone remove me from the area rather than just end up unconsciously cuddling the guy in front.

middle for me. i like to see a wave of the crowd feeling the music, watching people dance under lasers and strobes is amazing when im spangled off my tits

At the front you can often have a fair amount of space (different kettle at festivals like) if you're with crew it's easy, and anyway I often find people leave a good 1 metre radius around me due to my dancing style, and maybe something to do with my appearance...(no hair, gold hoops etc.) you get the picture %)

Clubs? Wouldn't know about that kinda stuff. Do people actually want to look at those deejay fellas? They're all seemingly bald and fat. Exclusively. It's like idolising Phil Mitchell.

On the rare occasions I've gone 'clubbing', I've never even looked at the guy spinning the records.

Gigs? Depends entirely on the band. Though if anybody saw 'the mad guy' at the 2008 My Bloody Valentine Manchester shows in a trance, right up close to the PA with no earplugs, that was me.
