A couple days ago, I was prescribed Prozac for depression, and Dexedrine for ADD. My first day, I took one pill of Dex before school, and one pill of 20mg Prozac at the same time. The Dexedrinr worked incredibly, and I felt a rush and felt sort of buzzex for almost the whole time. When I came off the Dex, my ADD came back tenfold, I was incredibly agitated, and couldn't think straight. The second day, I decided to try taking Dex by itself, without the Prozac. I had two 15mg pills throughout to the day. The first pill made me feel either a very small amount if focus, if not none at all. The second pill later, made me feel a tiny bit different for a small amount of time, but may just be because of the two overlapping. Although I got no real effects that day, my side effects were pretty much the same. I decided then that I would stop taking it. When the side effects wore off, I still didn't feel back to normal, but didn't pay much attention to it. After I while, I thought I saw some black dots randomly on my desk, but they quickly disappeared, and I didnt think much if it. A bit later, a big black circle showed up in the center of my vision, and I knew exactly what was happening. I've experienced a delirious drug before, can't recall the name, but I think its main use was nausea treatment. When I tripped on the deliriant back then, (don't ask why I thought a deliriant would be fun, I don't even know myself) I saw creepy things like breathing shadows, spiders, and inanimate objects started moving... It was all super realistic. I learned that there were some rules to said deliriant, like how if I try to touch one of the hallucinations, it disappears, and the as long as I am surrounded by light, the hallucinations were almost fully inactive. When I started hallucinating from the Dex, I applied the same ruleset as the other deliriany and figured I would be fine. For the first bit, it worked and was relatively similsr but instead of recurring spiders, it was long, white hairs. After a while though, things started changing and getting worse... I never could've prepared for that night. Suddenly, the "light is a safe zone" rule started to fade, and despite being surrounded by a room filled with light, I was still hallucinating. My hallucinations became much more advanced than the last time, this time it simulated a lot more senses. Instead of disappearing before I could touch hallucinations, I could feel them, and some of them (like the white hairs) felt so real, that I didn't know if it was or not. I also felt lots of poking, grabbing, and jabbing at my skin, and in some cases actually felt (only slight) pain. I also started hearing sounds like blood dripping, doors opening, and even the simulated speech of my parents outside my room, when they were actually asleep. Also a bit of taste, but only tasting the white hair when I'd lodges itself in my mouth. It was the most horrific experience in my life, and it kept me up from 11:30 till 6:00 am, until I was so wiped out that my brain had almost completely shut down. Which resulted in most of the hallucinations fading away, and I could finally sleep (if it matters, the Dex kept me up the night before, so I had been awake for over 24 hours). Also multiple head pounding headaches. Today when I woke up, I saw a white hair again, which vanished into thin air when I tried to grab it. I've also been feeling things poking at me still.
After doing lots of researched, I would guess that this is withdrawal effects, (hallucinations, headaches), but its odd because I had 3 pills of 15mg over 3 days and that is it, so how could I already have withdrawal issues, and even more so having withdrawal issues after few hours of already taking a second pill?
I noticed the second day that most likely the Dex was mostly useless because of tolrance, but how could my tolerance build up that fast from one pill?
After research, my personal guess is that the SSRI I took the first day probably amped the Dex. I've also heard lots of sleep aids like melatonin, and 5-Htp can amp it too, which I take them both every night, and have for years now. Supposedly caffeine amps Dex as well, and both days I have taken the pills with a full cup of coffee (lol). I also regularly drink pop, and an unhealthy amount at that (I am only 16 and have already had minor kidney stones).
Also, the main med I was after was the antidepressant, and I barely cared about the Dex but after taking Dex once, without thinking, my brain was hard-wired into thinking Dex was the important one, and they I would give up the Prozac like that to take the Dex.
Would those factors would have amped the Dex so much much that I have easily built up a tolerance for it, and even withdrawal symptoms?
If it is in fact withdrawal symptoms, can anyone make even just a rough guess at how long they might last? I've read that you should assume it will last around 90 days, but I don't see how 3 pills could result in 90 days of withdrawals.
