As chance meetings become
last minute inspirations
my past finished its duration
by running through to my present
I'm presently parked past the meters limit
in an emotional tow zone
tickets building a shield to alleviate
the heat I'll feel when I step into the furnace
ignition turned like hot coals as I
fed fuel to the fire with my
lead foot on the pedal, I drive
figure eights where words meddle, my mind
hits the brakes and shifts the gears
skipping through this
transition like slipping transmissions
hydroplaning over lost loves puddles as
wipers streak the tear drops
drizzling upon metallic flesh and asphalt
and I pass fault like outstretched thumbs
stepping the miracle mile with
soul worn through soles showing
vagabonds who gather arms in
tattered shards and straggle on by while
my inner self waves in the rear view
as men become mice in an instant
but my indifference invites a grimmace
so I drive long after my drive has ended.

Damn fine!

The way you manage to spin words together into a very slick piece of poetry, which reads both wittily and intelligently, while also having emotional depth, impresses me very much.

Cheers!
