Acute consternation through this abrupt realization - Pain,
all encompassing, as it spans over me - Swiftly,
the hammer can fall - Crushing,
dreams once strong - Sinking,
deeper & deeper, now, am I - Falling,
victim to the swelling tides - Drifted,
deeper & deeper, now have I - Bled-out,
my soul and lost all control - Spiraled
down the void, defeated and destroyed - Death...
sorry to disappoint - Death...
Death... Death... Death...

P.S

Sorry for flooding the words forum. I just recently found it, and I have never shared my poetry with another one. So, with the power of the gilded glass screen in front of me, I will now share with many.

Thanks - I wrote this when I was almost 18 for a senor English class. Let me say that the devout Christian teacher didn't approve or agree with the negativity... Yes, pieces of art (No matter the level of which brought) should be graded on personal approval... A , F or as is in this case a D, is besides the point. You openly admit to grading a students paper on personal opinion? Ridiculous.

Anyway, she gave me a D and sent me to the school counselor. What a crumbling beauty our Public Schools are. And still they are falling.
