Bluelighter
Had another dream today,
eyes opened/closed matters little to me
once again I travelled to be different
once again I travelled to be free
parked car, too far, another dream another scar
centred road, heavy loads
hills to valley
peak then fall
feel a heart explode
an empty supermarket lays before us
bright light, rotten fruit
he stalks eyeless from isle to isle
slecting the last remaining saftey
tosses me an empty can and ask me
"Can you be like this? empty hearts are clenched fists"
I got lost in the light where eyes once were
so we drove
we slid past, the empty world made him glad
children saw the way we travelled
bowed heads and as one were sad
A funeral march it seemed to them
why did it seem so much?
he stopped for me,
he stopped for them
he cured them with his touch
I am
I am
I.am.
He stopped my stutter
he lead me by the hand
now walking the thoughts came freely
(we pause again)
wreckage of a firestorm
wonder of a newborn
he holds a coal to me like a torch
his hand flakes, scorched
he holds tight
but light shines through
"Are you like this? A burning heart's a blackened fist"
Lost in the space
where rage once was
Rejoice
Rejoice
Rejoice
we stand above an endless hollow
and though they beckoned we didnt not follow
Instead we lay and thought and prayed of longer nights and slower days
I wrapped his hand in the pages of a bible I had once written
whispered thought
"Will you be this? a torn page, a worthless wish?"
