How do we love?
Is it instilled within our hearts,
Or do we learn of this bane as we grow?
Nothing can describe the juxtaposition of this pain,
This happiness, that we feel at any moment.
Love is merely a decoy for death.
Love is everything we want,
Yet it is everything we hate.
Love eats away our souls
Leaving us blind and exposed to heartache.
If only we could see this upon us!
If only we could learn to be alone and feel nothing,
Nothing of this death,
This chicanery, this deceit.
I feel that I have been dealt the worst hand of all in this life.
I no longer long for the bitter taste of love,
Nor the embrace of someone dear.
I only live and die, nothing more.
But wait, what is this?
I feel something burning inside my soul,
Something eating me away.
I am being lured into a trap, this I am certain
I feel the jaws of something hidden rip into my flesh.
The face of new life, of new breath
Floods my eyes.
A bitter taste fills my mouth, rolls under my tongue.
I feel my lips utter.........."I love You"
Am I Alive?
