What I ca'n't imagine
Is drawing closer towards me
Holding breath
Doesn't stop time
Does it prevent it?
I'm climbing closer
To the moment in time
Where breath never stops
And life starts to end
Tear me apart
And leave me to sew
The right pieces together
In the right places
Put a tired bullet
Through this soggy old head
And grab onto the pieces
That are better off dead
Can you hear
Grandfather clocks
Older than they look
Still ticking inside
Of these aching bones
I am so much younger
Than Jesus Christ
And my mother
Why do I feel ready
To die right now?
Words without letters
Write books with no sentences
Eyes with no pupils
Hang in order on the wall
What good is it to see
With no pupils in your body?
How old are you really
If you were born with them gone?
A death wish for yourself
Is not suicide
It is undoing the right
That was born incorrect
Words without letters
Never existed at all
Paradoxes only imaginable
In the minds of eyes without pupils
Tell a child to write
A word without letters
He will draw you a picture
Of a cat or a mouse
He ignores imperfection
And moves on to something better
He ignores what is not
And becomes what never was
Is it that simple
To say that it will only take
A year
Before glasses are blown
To un-impair these old blind eyes?
If you look beyond the pen names
And the head without a face
I'll tell you what you'll find
When you look behind the wall

why do i feel ready to die now? i dont want to know. what i want to know is if i will die when i turn eighteen? :(

Bravo! Another impressive piece! Your treatment of the child stunned me . . . write a word without letters . . . and the child draws a picture, magnificient! I was particularly taken by these lines:
Words without letters
Never existed at all
Paradoxes only imaginable
In the minds of eyes without pupils You have a great deal of talent, a mastery of the written word. :)

i'm sorry you feel that way. i think the teenage years are when we're supposed to figure everything out, it's really difficult. That, i believe, is why suicide is the third largest cause of death for teenagers. So now we have a problem, i don't see a solution...
you have an amazing talent for poetry. i did too (before paxil dulled my senses) and i really really enjoyed this piece.
if you ever need someone to talk to, i'm here.
