why is it,
it seems a part of our human condition,
to be insatiable.
never satisfied.
content with what is ours, or what can be had.
instead,
always looking
trying to take what is not ours
what others have already laid claim to.
that which could never be had
our greatest want.
and contentment,
it does not exist,
it is the condition which breeds insanity
or so it seems.
for i only feel sane when i know i'm lacking
i'm missing something
something i can't have.
someone else's life.
someone else's job.
anything but what is mine.
why.

contentment is really far away sometimes...
but i think that i can wait for it with *faith*(blind?) that it will come...stay up!

BC , First I like it a lot.
But I have to add here somthing - for the first time in my life - I am satisfied, completly - is it something I found - NO - is it my job - NO - is it a girl - No again ,
I finally realized that none of those things will really make you happy - but stopping to worry about them will ,
I am happy with what I have - can things get better - always should I worry about it- never and then you will always be happy.
An exapmle I ca n give is qouting someone which unfurtanatlly I don't remmember his name (promise to check) he said he see a lot of rich and wealthy people in america but when he went to tibet and saw families with hardly any money - hardly any food - who work 12 hours long physical work - he finally saw happiness.
Point is .. Stop looking you are awsome - and if you look deep inside you are satisfied - cause you are you - and that what makes you who you are

Anyways continue smiling and having fun - life is too short not to ..

... still not sure how to respond to this piece, but i'll try my best to make any sense...
jared, you are an amazing person. dont let anyone ever tell you any different. granted there are many things about you i will never understand or know, but i do know one thing - that you are capable of so much. maybe i am blind to your faults, but no one is perfect. everyone goes through shit, and not everyone can have it all. so those are the times you have to just sit back and accept what is going on, and learn to cope with it. hopefully time will prove to give some answers to whatever is troubling you. but in the mean time, know that i am *always* here for you if you need me. all you have to do is ask.
love ya

i think all of us feel like this at one time or another. Sometimes the thing we feel like we need seem so out of reach...be strong..
on a lighter note...great job.

Why do we always think contentment and happiness are things that must be 'found' and continually sought after, but never accomplished?
Maybe the seeking will end when we realize that both are a choice and have more to do with the attitude we bring towards the things that happen to us rather than the things themselves...
I dunno, I'm still looking too...

It is impossible to stop wanting something because it feels so right, rings so true, and leaves you so empty.
