Universe being aware of itself

cause they sound so awseome when you're stoned!=D

I think he was more a poet and a fine public speaker, as opposed to having as fine a grasp on what the psychedlic experience is really all about as most think he did. It's a hard one, and psychiatrists will be grappling with it for thousands years to come (just like the infinite intricacies of the human mind itself).

Plus he's a godsend for every ambient/psytrance outfit for sampling. =D

I've read all of his books and all of them are fascinating, he certainly led a life I'm more than envious of, espiacally that trip to the Amazon with his brother where they retained their first spore prints, and then were able to successfully grow them out on grain once they were back home in their lab. I believe he was the first to do this with success, although he just based his methods on those used for edibles.

But I digress, these rotten tangents. Teddible, just teddible. :)

I share an opposite view, based on what I've seen on psychedelics.
my opinion about psychedelics is that they give insights which are interpretated differently by different people

the best example is the existence of god or no
for me, it made obvious that there is no god
but i understand how other people could (in my opinion) misinterpret the same insights and conclude that there is a god

so i don't know what you've felt, but it's not necessarily as contradictory as it seems with my opinion :)
we'd have to share more about it (not now please, i don't have the time :) )

i cant stand those ass-long dink-posts, sorry I hafta sayit.
you're welcome to post in the lounge

(this is a good contender for the price of the least useful remark in this forum this year)

cuz it seems like just lines upon lines of babble. ive noticed this "style" before constantly coming out of the same poster (not him, someone else). so i am respectfully suggesting that he retract his Dink and simply write exactly what he means
"it seems like just lines upon lines of babble"

well, it's not

i'm sorry if you don't like (= don't understand) the way i write

blame yourself, not me

and post in the lounge instead, because your post #54 shows that you've been missing some points of the conversation

you're welcome to post in the lounge

He'll gravitate there, for good or ill.

I believe in no god, I believe in a self aware universe, all one being (no factions, no seperations) fully capable of being conscious of one another, of being one another. This is to abstract to get into for discussion purposes, but it is what it is.

nice conversation everyone.

back in my teens, long before i even considered taking any recreational drug, i theorised on reincarnation, which when straight to the point concluded the probability that everyone is just one soul/spirit/ghost/whatever going from life to life to life encompassing all of existence.

years later, i wrote a vision in the form of a high concept film script which described the universe before the big bang and the first steps of the awakening. the guts of the matter is a perpetual state of manifestation, in that all thoughts/dreams/prayers/wishes/curses/etc throughout time (beginning to end) all influence the conditions of the beginning.
this way, we are all predefined, but we are also making our own definitions. I rationalised this process by suggesting that a lonely universe/singularity/whatever holds no value to its eternal existance without the experience of a finite lifespan, and so creates the circumstances where such an experience would be experientially real.

the first time i came across a similar idea was in philip k dick's wonderful book "valis". but he presents a somewhat disturbing addition to this theory. he reckons (as i interpret), that the fracturing of the universal mind is a result of sever trauma caused by an OUTSIDE source. Ponder that thought for a moment.

about the psycadelecs. I feel that they were given to us by the earth for a reason. not all drugs, just the ones that the earth gave us. They help you realize what life is about.

That definitely sparked my interest into valis I will have to check that out.

mind you, this is purely my interpretation of a small part of that strange and bizarre story.

as long as omnisol keeps buying me new shoes, i'll continue sleeping with her

^What is the outside source?

that's an even harder question than the one posed in the original post of this thread.

i tend to view the universe and existence in general as a singular being viewing itself from infinite angles so that it may better know itself, not only are you one of the points of its perception but every cell in your body has a different window and way to view things, if that makes sense
