Unfortunate cut off

Hey guys,
Hope I am even posting in the right place, if not please forgive me I am kind of new to the site. I was on adderall for about 3 years but when i graduated from college my psychiatrist basically cut me off thinking i would no longer need it. Since then i have been trying to cope or figure out what might be an appropriate substitute if any. I got upset with my psych at the time when they completely cut me off of adderall and told her i'd no longer be using her services, I am wondering, is there a way I can seek a new script from a normal doctor or does that make me seem like a drug seeker? Like is there a way she could have dinged my "mental health record" for that and is that something a new doctor would want to see? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately we don't allow discussion about how to get drugs from a doctor. All I can really say is that a new doctor may want to speak with your last doctor or see your medical records, it's up to them really. You can definitely seek medical treatment from a new doctor, but going in demanding a specific prescription on your first day is probably not the best way to go about it. You can tell them that you were prescribed Adderall in the past and felt that it helped, there's nothing wrong with being honest with your new doctor. We also don't do suggestions of what drugs to take if that is part of what you are asking. You can discuss with your new doctor the options for other drugs that could help your condition (I am assuming ADHD).
