Underworld Appreciation Thread!

Dam you lucky sods, id love to see Underworld! Im a massive fan as well, think i'm missing one album of theirs to complete the set, also got the everything everything DVD that alasdairm suggested a LOOONG time ago to me :D
When ever im outa my head, that dvd goes on and it send me to another place!

Edit- dam shame theres no UK dates for a tour! Saw Faithless and now i'm after an underworld gig!
 
Underworld fuckin rock!!! If ur lookin for other quality acts id go along with Leftfield and Orbital and id also add the Prodigy and Chemical brothers as kick ass acts. Obvious but worth a mention.
 
Aphex Twin is a trip. The Richard D James album is a MUST HAVE for anyone that likes to trip.

I have been in love with underworld for 10 years.. Dirty Epic is classic. Pearl's Girl too. my fav is Jumbo.
 
i can't believe that nobody has commented in the event thread!

underworld playing at red rocks is pretty much my dream concert...

I've always been a huge fan of underworld, dubnobasswithmyheadman is the best I recon. I saw them at V festival years ago when I must have been 16, before I started taking pills and I'd still say it was one of the best live shows I've ever seen.
 
i saw them (san francisco, warfield) last time they toured and emmerson was gone. effect on enjoyment and epic wall of sound: zero :)

that said, i was completely off my face...

underworld are coming to the us in september. they're playing boston, new york, denver, la and san francisco between 9/7 and 9/15.

last time i saw them in san francisco, they played a blinder of a set. they went off and came back on and played an insane encore which included born slippy and cowgirl/rez. they went off again and everybody thought it was over but kept it up for a little while just in case. i figured they were done as there was no way they could top their encore. but then they came back on. and played moaner.

Passingly familiar, like some songs, dislike others (not THAT much into dance music in general).
I've heard great things about their live show though.

I know this thread has been dead for a while, but seeing as I am gonna be seeing Underworld on New Year's Day in Melbourne, I thought I'd resurrect it. I think they are absolutely amazing!!!

I saw then once at Creamfields 2002 in Liverpool - their whole set was amazing, but one thing that stands out in my memory is when the melody first came in during Born Slippy - just put a smile on everyone's face!!! As I remember, they also played Dark Train - really hope they play it in Melbourne - absolutely mindblowing!!!

My fav album is still Dubnobasswithmyheadman , although Second Toughest In The Infants and Beaucoup Fish are also amazing (100 Days Off isnt bad either). I find their new album (Oblivion with bells) a bit patchy, although it does have some highlights (especially Best Mamgu Ever)

Sadly, as with most Aussie festivals, theyll probably only give Underworld a 90-minute set. Was really hoping theyd do a sideshow, where theyd be able to play 3 hours! - i'd love to hear tracks like Spoonman, Dirty Epic, MMM Skyscraper I Love You, Kittens, but when they only give them a 90-minute set, theyll probably just have to stick to their biggest anthems (hehe - i say that like its a bad thing - theyll obviously still be fucking amazing!!!!)
 
After seeing them on New Year's Day in Melbourne, I can confirm that Underworld are still the best live band in the world.

I highly recommend doing a youtube search for 'Underworld Summadayze'. Most of the clips are mine, and they fucking rock!!! The moment where they bring the kick drum in at the start of 'Dark Train' is just so sick, as are the pounding drums at the start of 'Born Slippy NUXX'. Was also delighted that they played 'Spoonman', which I really wasn't expecting.

I really must see them again ASAP.
 
Well I saw them on new years eve at Bondi Beach!!!

OMFG, okay, imagine this! At 12am EXACTLY they dropped born slippy... Sent shivers down my spine, let me find clip!
