Underrated / Underappreciated Artists

Did you miss my point about him ripping off old poetry?

I saw that, but wasn't sure what you meant. Do you mean stylistically? I would say he was "influenced" by a certain era perhaps, but I don't think that constitutes "ripping off." His poetry is average IMO, some of it is worthwhile.

Nymphetamine by Cradle Of Filth

dude there are so many CoF songs that totally blow that one away, wtf is wrong with people. That album is ok but nothing nearly as good as the 3 ones before it. Hell the 4 before it...

Oh and CoF is HARDLY underground, Dani Filth is a rockstar and totally not metal. they are like borderline becoming mainstream and shall be shunned forever by the metal world (if they arent allready - they get boo'd a lot at big death/black metal festivals, so they have to go play gigs like ozzfest).

However, they do make some kickass music. Midian and Cruelty and the Beast shall forever remain 2 of my most favorite CDs.

oh and the doors are fucking horrible. i guess if you are a token wanna be hippy then you have to sport like a doors poster or lunchbox or like shoelaces (hemp of course!) or something. outside of that they have no use other than to prove that even in the 60s and 70s, the most popular forms of music sucked ass too.

It's the Grammy's, man. Who knows? I didn't even know Motorhead was still making music, yet apparently they have the best heavy metal single of the year (according to some stuffy Grammy execs). :|

Maybe it's just me but I think the popularity that Jamiroquai got with Traveling Without Moving killed an otherwise good career. I love his stuff, and think he's so much more talented than people give credit for.

Little Feat

Man, these old threads are making me miss when the WOOD, SonOF, and Sn.2 were posting regularly. :(

Take 5 minutes to honor a true musical genious!

Warren Zevon

Right on!
I found this website today asking for signatures to induct Warren Zevon in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame just as many legends have been inducted postmortem.

take a sec and sign this petition for Warren.
"Keep Me in Your Heart for Awhile"
if that song doesn't move you...i can't think of many that would. Written after his cancer had progressed and he came to terms with his fleeting life. He stays in my heart. A truly amazing musician and song writer.<3
