Stimulants Unanticipated Vyvanse withdrawals?

Hello all,

I have a script for Vyvanse, 40 mg once a day. I usually use all seven pills each week, but split it between two or three days.

Last Wednesday I took 1.5 pills in the evening around 9 pm, another .5 at 1 am, and 2 more at 8 am. Around 7 pm on Thursday I started feeling awful symptoms of fatigue and discomfort, but couldn't sleep until around 10. The next day (Friday) I slept for about 18 hours and when I woke up was extremely hungry. Saturday I also slept most of the day; on Sunday I still felt groggy but was able to function.

Based on a bit of research these are symptoms of amphetamine withdrawal, but I'm not sure why this dose (200 mg over 12 hours, and never more than 80 mg at a time) caused withdrawal. I have done this much Vyvanse previously with no ill effects. On similarly large doses of Adderall and Concerta, I never had a rough comedown (or any bad symptoms at all- I'd just knock out in the evening and wake up feeling fine.) I was also surprised that the effects lingered for 3 days.

Do you think it's a reaction to the Vyvanse in particular? Is there any way to avoid this? Why do you think it happened?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Taking large doses in the manner you mentioned is like going on a bender. It kicks your bodies ass. My rule is that I need two days off amps sleeping and eating before I go back to work. You have to really plan for amp comedowns\withdrawal will fuck shit up for you and tempt you to re-dose.

It wasn't withdrawal. Sounds like you were just crashing from a binge. 200mg over 12 hours is quite a lot.

If you're gonna be taking large amounts of amphetamines, remember to stay hydrated, force yourself to eat small meals, take vitamins and aminos, and try to have some benzos on hand for the comedown.
