Unable to take DXM anymore?

So i went through a short depression about a year ago. lasted about a month.

I had already taken DXM previously a few times. During this depression however, I ended up taking about 500mg of DXM every other night for the entire month. Nearing the end of the month (the last 3 days or so) I was taking 600mg every night.

In the last 3 days I ended up in the hospital (mom found me convulsing in my room).

Needless to say I quit for a while. The next time I tried it I found I was unable to take more than 50mg without slight convulsions.

Can anyone tell me why this happens. Anyways to fix it, or will i just never be able to use DXM again?
 
I can't explain as to why you experience convulsions from small doses now I'm afraid, or how to fix it (other than taking an Anti-Epileptic) but I can most definitely tell you that you must not take DXM ever again. It's not only a silly idea but an extremely dangerous one.

yes i had thought about that. I dont plan on taking it like i used to i would just like to be able to.
 
Most likely you've damaged something internally, something I doubt you can fix. I doubt you'll ever be able to take it again, so be carefull with any cough supressant seeing that many of them tend to have DXM in it, besides, cough syrup is nothing compared to the feeling of Opiod!

yea but how many opiods can you pick up at your local walmart?
 
I may not be a doctor, but I think your body MIGHT be telling you something here...

I cant add to this but im really curious as to what/why this (is)happens. Knowledgeable people come and educate me!
 
Over time, my body began to react worse and worse to DXM with each exposure; and its now to the point I wont even take it in medicinal doses. The DXM I refer to was either bought as a pure powder or cough gels with no other active ingredients; no CCC bullshit. Doubt I'll ever touch it again...
 
Wow, that's really interesting. I've experience convulsions and memory loss.
I downed 16 CCC pills WITH 1/4 bottle of Vodka and had convulsions. And before I woke up with convulsions I had memory loss. I woke up with vomit all over the floor with evidence of me running to the trash can. I woke up and didn't remember anything. I'm scarred of what else I may have did..
Let's just say I was thinking of suicide.....I will never do THAT again.

it was almost always zicam cough mist(DXM being the only active ingredient)

on occasion i would take Robitussin cough gels(DXM still being the only active ingredient)

Well that eliminates any other possibilities. Unfortunately I've been privy to seeing some people who did not pay attention to labels. I believe they had to take one kid to the hospital.

I can't take DXM anymore either but it's only because it usually results in a negative experience.

So, since we sort of are talking about not taking DXM anymore, I got a question.

DXM was never my fav drug, I only did it on times where I had nothing else to take. I started off on low dosages [300-600 mgs] and moved on to higher levels [800-1200]. I took either Equate Tussin [walmart brand], Robotussin, or these Cough Pills, kind of like musinex [20mg dxm in each pill] but it was cheaper and came with like 60 pills in it. But my last few "trips" were ... very odd. And I really think its because I took "musinex" pills.

Anyway, past like 4-5 trips, I would just get intoxicated, and not DXM kind of intoxicated. I was fucked up, dont get my wrong, but it was different fucked up... And NORMALLY if I were to take 800-1000 mgs of DXM, I would be enjoying 4th plateau. Now.. its like ... I took 1000 mgs, and I'm on like high 1st plateau zone.

So, could it be that DXM has lost its magic to me? I probably have done it about 40 times past ... 4-5 years. Or should I stick with cough syrup, because I never had such weird problem with syrup.

lots of people say DXM does lose its magic over time after about 40 to 50 trips

when I take it even though im having the convulsions, the old feeling is still there, the convulsions dont hit me until about 90 minutes in, so i have a decent trip for abut 30 minutes, then im in the hospitol..lol
 
DXM is interesting in that it is one of the only drugs i have genuinely lost interest in. i went through a couple months of weekly use, in my lifetime i have probably tripped less than 30 times, in the past my use was somewhat compulsive i thought it was one of the greatest drug experiences a human could have on par with LSD. now i cannot remember what it felt like and could care less, probs for the best.
