I am taking ultram to help get through narcotic withdrawal. When i was reading info on rxlist, it specifically said that beyond other things that cause seizures, alchohol and drug withdrawals were a factor when taking the medication.Besides for the people that have experienced ill effects from taking large doses, do any other people find that ultram helps them during a hard time withdrawaling and have they encountered any ill effects staying around 100-150mgs per dose.
 
Tramadol (Ultram)did two things for me: It sent me into methadone WD, and it made the WD worse. Possibly it didn't help that I also ate ssri:s, but anyway I'll never come near the stuff again.
There is some information on the Internet that Ultram helps, but I have also found medical sites where tramadol is said to trigger WD in opiate-dependent users. It sure did in my case! I suppose that it's very individual, as is so often the case in the drug world...

I enjoyed it the very first time, but then never again. I took 6 that were the 50mg I think, but am not sure. I felt pretty euphoric, and had a nice, soothing mellow buzz. I loved it then. A few months later, I tried 8, and it didn't really do anything. I tried drinking a beer to see if it would kick in, but it never did. I was disappointed.
 
I was able to grab quite the handful of Ultracet from ..... 'somewhere' one night. I must say I think the Tramadol is great so far.
I took 3 my first time, and wow. I was feeling great. After that i've experienced 2 more nights taking 2 each night. And still...wonderful. I also tend to be able to wake up earlier, with less of a groggy feeling that I always get when waking up at those early times.
I usually can't play my videogames while dosing, but that's probably due to the fact that my brain is about numb. Though I find I can easily grab a movie, and veg. away for a couple hours easily.
The only real downfall from what i've experienced so far, is how much I could abuse them. Considering how much I like them for what they do. And I don't know about downfall, but talk about never quenching your thirst after taking them (whew*). Get's 2 thumbs up from me so far. :)
 
how many of these should i take (swallow,chew,or rail??)for those of yall who have taken the 50mg pills before.
im going to be doing normal day activities and dont wanna be to messed up or impared to do them.i have no tolerence to it yet.also i want a dose that is going to give me a nice buzz with no side effects such as seiezures.
im not on ne other medication and not withdrawing from alchole or ne thing else mentioned in the caution.

does this mean it uses some of ur serotonin or it builds it back up. i dont wanna do it if its going to deminish my serotonin level any further because i rolled the other day.
 
Im assuming these are only good if you have no tolerance as they are mixed agonist/antagonist.. If you have tolerance these will set in withdrawls, just slower than cold turkey..
 
Yeah a little seratonin uptake inhibition isn't bad after rolling, it would probably actually help (like fairnymph stated).
I recently took some for pain relief and I am also on an ssri. The doctor was pretty quick on the draw to give me a shitload of samples and send me out the door. I just ate them all at once, about 300mg, and it literally didn't do anything except make me feel a little sedated. Needless to say I never picked up the following prescription.

I've been on an ultram detox program for just over two weeks (fucking bupe people can't ship the stuff fast enough to colorao). Is it perfect- NO, and I writhing on the floor vomiting on myself reaching for my gun to end it all... no on that either. I started with 5-6 50's ever 4 hours. I also take klonopin (anxiety), methacarbomal(horrerndous cramping), and at night I take restoril to konk out (usually taking 2 to make it through the night).
Will I be free at the four week level... hard to say... I hope so. But the reality is, tapering is fucing tough on this shit. I, unfortunately may have to reup on another 4 weeks (hopefully only 6 but I have to pay for 8 anyway). Started seeing a counselor yesterday.

dont smoke weed 24 hours after takein ultram. whoa i found my self in a state of mind not knowin what was going on and coulnt think.
 
The question was whether or not ultram helps withdrawal, not is it recreational. It depends what you are withdrawaling from, and how severe the dependency. As someone mentioned, tramadol should not be used in methadone dependent people, but may help withdrawal from shorting acting drugs like heroin or oxycontin. I tried using ultram to detox myself from oxycontin, and ended up hitting IV morphine all day everyday.
 
I ran out early on my scripts of roxicodone 15 and lortab 10's the other night and I have been taking them for the past 4 weeks for an injury and started withdrawing saturday night. By Sunday afternoon I was still throwing up and felt horrible, plus I had alot of pain from injury.
I had a bottle of ultrams that the doctor gave me a few weeks ago that I was not taking because of it not taking my pain away and felt more like valium then an opiate. I took 200mg and I was feeling good enough to eat within an hour and stopped throwing up. The pain was still there but the sickness was going away fast. This worked very well for taking the sickness away. Very well.
I have noticed something else today. I took ultrams all day today, like 200mg every 6 hours. Well I got a few lortab 10's and it seems like my tolerance has almost doubled. I had to take about 50mg to take the pain away. Just last week I could do it with 30mg. Was this caused by my body withdrawing or maybe the ultrams?
 
Its prescribed under the name tramadol in the UK and I didnt really rate it at all.
It is a good pain medicine and does make you a bit sleepy but its no where like codine or similar where there is a high.
 
tramadal in larger than normal amounts is mad fun
if you take like 6 - 8 (for me atleast.. i have a pretty big opiate tolerance), its jus like a good perc buzz, but it lasts hella long
