ultram and suboxone

will ultram throw me into precipitated withdrawals if i switch to suboxone. i know that ultram works somewhat like a weak opiate and i mean very very weak. if i cant switch over to subs after taking ultram how long do i need to wait before i make the transition over to suboxone. even when i take the ultram i feel mild w/d so i know that the tramadol helps somewhat with w/d's and thats what worries me. if it helps to subside the worst of the withdrawals then i wouldnt think i could go strait to subs. anybody with ultram experience please chime in on this and tell me how long i have to wait to switch over to suboxone. like i said i feel w/d's even on the ultram just not the worst of the w/ds.
 
The half life is pretty short for tramadol HCL, like 6 hours. Therefore if you wait 12 hours and start by taking .5 - 1mg of sub, then another mg an hour later you'll be fine. Just try not to take more than .5 or 1mg for your induction dosage.
 
My doc just told me that tramadol stays in the system actually very long time, a lot longer than morphine. But this was for naltrexone induction, not bupe. There is more than half-life on this.

I would start with very low dose of suboxone, maybe 0.5mgs to minimize the possible symptoms. And working up from there.
 
to be safe ill wait 24hrs then start with about 1mg sub and see what happens. if nothing happens i should stabalize with the suboxone anywere between 2-3 mgs. i feel its wasting your subs if you take anymore than 4mg for maintenance but thats just my opinion, less makes you feel better in my experience, even euphoric sometimes. since i got two different answers id appreciate more info on this matter if anyone wants to help me out with this. thanks for your replies people, as alwayz i appreciate it.
 
suboxone then tramadol is fun, but tramadol then suboxone is not. def wait 24 hours for the later between the two
 
Took 100mg of tramadol, but I don't feel anything. Should I take another 50mg? It's been an hour. Also, is it safe to take 10mg Percocet later this evening?

It usually takes little over an hour (empty stomach) for tramadol to be metabolized to the o-desmethyl-version which is where the most opioid effect comes from. 100mg should be felt with no tolerance but some don't seem to really feel it at any dose. I think the percocet is safe as long no other CNS depressants are involved.
