ULTIMATUM: ME or DRUGS

^indeed. I've had some substantial drug habits while with my gf over the last 6-7 years and so long as i supported my habits, didn't destroy her life with them and kept my shit together, there were no problems. That's really how it should be.

I do see money being the issue, it's the only thing that would fuck up my relationship with me using drugs, aside from being blacked out constantly.

my drug use actually motivates me to make more money, so i can buy more drugs, more musical equipment so i can get more high and enjoy what i love most. The thing is, you have to make money to be a successful drug user in this world, if your drug use is preventing you from making more than enough money to support your habit and cover essentials plus comforts then you have a problem. You could be addicted to methamphetamine, heroin and alprazolam but if you're making $300,000 a year and are financially savvy, you don't really have a problem.

most drug users aren't financially savvy, most people aren't either actually, work on that if it's a problem, you wouldn't believe how many people have no fucking idea what's going on with their finances.

^^ At least he's got something to show for his money & music/DJing etc adds personality to an individual.
Taking drugs doesn't.

Spending money on recreational drugs. Especially daily. Is a massive waste of money.

I definitely agree that hobbies such as DJ-ing adds personality. Perhaps it was a bad comparison. I just thought of an expensive hobby (I mean... thousands of dollars for this crazy DJ equipment and whatnot, I think that is kind of expensive lol). But there are things like psychedelics and stuff that can really change your thoughts and offer much more insight for a person. But then it comes down to "which drug is worth it" type thing. I dunno, I think it's all kind of grey area.
What about spending money to get into a club? I mean, a lot of people will spend money on cover. That doesn't add to someone's personality the same way as music does, does that mean it's a waste of money? If it is fun, then I don't see the issue.

spending more than you can afford on anything can be problematic, but in terms of happiness, experiences are a better investment than possessions.

Many people have good experiences with drugs.

Addictions are almost always a problem, but then it becomes a health problem instead.
I sometimes forget that most people aren't financially savvy - both drug users and non-drug users. My coworkers, who make less than me, go out spending hundreds of dollars in a night. I don't understand how they can afford it. Yet I can always afford what I need and I know when I can afford the things that I want. If you can't afford something (including drugs), then you shouldn't be buying it/them.

my gf works at a bank and constantly deals with people who make well over $100,000 a year themselves, not including their partner's income and are in a world of debt and have no idea about investments, savings accounts or how to manage their money properly or budget. These people end up being as poor as someone on the poverty line somehow, you'd think they'd be smart financially. I think that is what really makes the difference between someone who has money and someone who doesn't.

My dad makes about 10x more than i do, yet he has no money saved up, is behind on his mortgage payments and lives paycheck to paycheck, tho he spends ridiculous amounts of money on cannabis, i still have no idea why he doesn't invest or something, he could easily have had millions by now but instead just has properties that generate deficits not revenue. I have saved up 7 grand with my gf in the last few months alone, just by budgeting and cutting out needless shit and all that money is sitting there collecting interest.

sorry off topic but yeah, everyone should learn how to manage their finances, drug users or not. Addiction in itself is a problem but just being dependent on opiates/benzos/stims to function is not really going to cause a shit load of health problems for a person.

I agree with nooneanymore

-choose either.

Nice list by the way, whats the list when and if you reach the age of six...no wait, make that fifty(?)

Stop using the drugs and switch to a strich diet of beer and weed.

I see drugs as partly tools, if you havent read it, read it: Aldous Huxley Doors of Perception
-in your case, dont use mescaline....
