Posting for harm-reduction / curiosity. I’m not using this batch anymore, just trying to understand what may have caused this reaction and whether anyone else has experienced something similar, especially in the UK.
Background
• Location: UK
• Regular ketamine user
• Usually buy from the same person and haven’t had issues before
• Recently my usual guy said he’s expanding and has been sending a worker instead
• I don’t usually know specifics about cuts/adulterants, so this stood out to me
Route / context
• Snorted only
• Ate normally beforehand (nothing unusual)
• Symptoms started very quickly, around 5–10 minutes
Appearance of the substance
• Instead of larger shards, it was very fine, almost glitter-like particles but looks the same as k just skinny
• Seemed to cling to the sides of the bag unusually (static)
• Felt harsher and dustier than normal ket
Dose
• Similar to my usual amount
• I did re-dose throughout the night at first (stupidly), because the nausea seemed to ease briefly when the ket effects kicked in, then return when they faded
• Eventually stopped completely
Symptoms
Nose / throat
• Burn lasted longer than usual
• Nose blocked up much faster
• Excessive drip compared to normal
Mouth / throat
• Very heavy salivation
• Constantly filling with spit
• Sensation like foam or bubbles coming up my throat
• Spitting out white, foamy saliva
• Frequent burping
Body
• Strong nausea (felt different from anything I’ve had before, almost anxiety-like nausea but much more intense)
• Felt like I might throw up
• Mild flushing
• Symptoms persisted for hours, including while trying to sleep
Mental effects
• Very little dissociation compared to expected
• Some eye-delay effects, but they felt odd and uncoordinated, not the usual smooth delayed movement I associate with ket
• Overall effects didn’t match the dose
Closed-eye visuals
• When trying to sleep, I experienced pronounced closed-eye visuals that felt atypical for ket:
• flowing / drifting colour fields
• colours blending into each other (reminded me of psychedelics rather than ketamine)
• recognisable imagery (faces, animals, objects — e.g. elephants and just random people)
Duration / resolution
• Symptoms continued even after stopping use
• Hydration didn’t help much at the time
• Eventually resolved on their own
• Felt fine the next day
basically I was just wondering whether this pattern matches:
• a known filler/adulterant
• contamination
• or something others in the UK have been seeing recently
• I initially wondered about MSG or another irritant filler due to the physical symptoms, but I know that’s not something you can confirm without testing

1. Has anyone experienced excessive salivation / foamy spit / strong nausea like this from ket?
2. Does this symptom pattern match any known fillers or adulterants?
3. Has anyone in the UK noticed similar fine/glittery batches recently?
