FOR many idiots, particularly those of a liberal, middle-class, chattering disposition, cannabis is still seen as the acceptable face of drugs.
As they pass around a post-dinner joint, they decry the escalation of violent crime, the inner city muggings and the general dumbing down of standards in decency and respect.
The intellectual trendies are vaguely aware of the menace of so-called hard drugs and appreciate the damage done to families and communities by the peddling of heroin and amphetamines.
But they console themselves in the misguided belief that cannabis is a “soft” drug; that it is harmless.
They say it “chills people out,” calms them down, and therefore cannabis is a beneficial, like a strong Lemsip.
In fact, to these twerps, cannabis isn’t even a drug – it’s a lifestyle choice.

The new research also adds to a body of evidence linking cannabis use to schizophrenia.
Having a puff of hippy weed doesn’t seem such a good idea now, does it?

Just as reading The Guardian leads to the wearing of sandals, the smoking of marijuana leads to the use of ecstasy and LSD.

All relativity harmless drugs, I hate people with this kind of attitude.. they've obviously never tried any of these things before, and are also most likely alcoholics.

Also when he talks about it being "twice as harmful to youths" mental wellbeing surely that supports regulation? it's not like anyone selling weed is going to ID there customer to makesure they're over 18...

ugh; I hate the writer of this article just from reading it, the self-rightous and condesending tone makes me feel a bit sick.

thanks for posting this though.

Oh im an insane schizophrenic; good to know.

^ok I am certifiably obsessed with the newsbot. It is so fascinating that I feel need to be rescued from it.

What a repugnant article. The guy seems like a prime candidate for a senior editorial post with the Daily Fail.

This article should be a parody... but it looks like it isn't.
What a load of shite.

The third word of the article is idiots, which turns out to refer to liberals / pot smokers / the other side in general. I find it kind of hard to believe the article was intended seriously..

I don't. We see sensationalised articles such as this seemingly on a daily basis from these types. They are written without any sense of irony by ultra-conservatives living inside a right-wing bubble. The worst thing is that articles such as this are increasing in both frequency and vitriol.

They should just wipe the rabid foam from their mouths and perhaps join the real world.

It doesn't have reader comments, but you can give it a rating from 1-5. Average rating: 1.0 (43 votes).

Because if cannabis, a class B drug, doesn’t do you any harm, then cocaine, a class A drug, can’t be all that bad, can it?

yet another anti drug reporter only using the governments inaccurate class system to try and make a point by linking cannabis with "hard" drugs

Such are the perils of a misinformed, “right-on” drug policy. Britain will be paying the price for many years to come.

any hint of hypocrisy or am i just a crazy conspiracy theorist

these arguments are old and outdated

at the end of the day it's the people who aren't getting chemically induced enlightenment who are missing out...

but it is ridiculous of them then to try and control enlightenment of others...

and oil execs, wall street magazine CEOs and lawmakers can snort meth off of strippers :)

id rather be schizophrenic than have a failing liver @___@

I always have a hard time believing these kind of articles are being serious. It just seems like it must be a joke....
