A 16-YEAR-OLD was left “out of it” after taking drugs in a park with his pals. Police were forced to arrest the schoolboy who became uncontrollable upon taking 2CB, believed to be a legal high. It’s one of a number of different types of harmful substances that have circulated the area – some of which are not yet banned like ecstasy and cocaine are.
Taken in tablet form, 2CB is said to be a mixture of ecstasy and LSD and can have potentially fatal consequences.
A police spokeswoman said: “He was described by the witnesses as completely out of it, covered in sweat with enlarged pupils, and his mouth was full of thick white saliva. “He was continually shouting and swearing at the top of his voice, repeating himself constantly.” Following the incident, last Sunday, the boy had to be arrested for his own safety and is now said to have no recollection of the incident. PC Andrew Dunlop of Kilmarnock said: “This was a decent lad, and totally out of character and his reaction was extreme. “This must be taken as a warning to anyone who takes or is thinking of taking these apparent legal highs.”
“Meantime I would urge those who peddle these drugs to make money to stop before any more people are hurt. “I would also urge local young people to realise that these substances are not safe and they should not risk their health or their lives for a quick high.”
