A man has been found guilty of the "cowardly" murder of a University of Liverpool medical student.

Muneeb Nasir, 21, from Bristol, was stabbed by 37-year-old Colin Clarke, from Liverpool, during a bungled drugs robbery.

Liverpool Crown Court was told that Nasir had been using and dealing the drug mephedrone.

Alan Johnson, 30, was convicted of manslaughter and Mark Hirst, 19, was cleared of murder and manslaughter.

During the nine-week trial, the court heard that Mr Nasir was subjected to "extreme violence" in the attack last July at his student house in Wavertree.

the article states it was a 17 oz stash. still really shitty way to go. mephedrone dealing will unfortunately cause a lot of the same bad scenarios you can come to expect when dealing cocaine as it has the same nasty animal pull towards resdosing and mega fiending. why did they need to stab him? he was dealing an illegal drug its not like he was going to go to the police and complain about them taking it.

nasty evil men.

Ah 17 oz sorry can a mod edit please, yeah I rekon he could of just been tied up no need to stab when its a 3 on 1 situation, ive been with in a friend when hes been in an almost same situation, probally half the amount of that 17 oz though but luckily fortunate to get away with drugs and all

Does anyone else see this as fucked up? The drug Mephedrone became illegal because a few people were claimed to have died from it's usage. Now that it's illegal and underground, people are being killed due to drug violence. WOW!

No more fucked up than every other illegal drug. Open your eyes.

It's like spice... if you smoke too much, it can be bad for you, causing heart palpitations. A woman died from this stuff. She got high and she fainted, hitting her head on the desk. People started hearing spice and death from this, and it was immediately given a bad name. People don't know the whole story. She could have fainted without smoking spice, and died from the same fall. People faint. It happens. It doesn't mean that the drug killed her. Another person shot himself after having a panic attack from smoking spice. He could have waited it out and he would still be alive. He chose to pull the trigger, not the spice. What if I was to drink a bunch of alcohol and pass out and hit my head and die? Would it be made illegal? As far as I know, cigarettes and alcohol have killed more people than all of the drugs in the world combined.

One in four US deaths can be attributed to alcohol, tobacco, or illicit drug use.

Tobacco users run the biggest risk of harm, since the majority of those deaths—430,700 annually—are associated with smoking.

Excessive alcohol use is responsible for 100,000 deaths annually.

16,000 deaths annually are due to illicit drug use, but this estimate is likely to be conservative as substance abuse is indirectly associated with deaths from diseases such as HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, tuberculosis, homicides, and other violent crimes and incidental injuries.

they left something out in the article.

it seems to me, from what they claim it being a "bungled" robbery, that he wouldn't tell thme where the mephedrone was, so they stabbed him to get him to talk, he probably fainted, then they left him to bleed to death. otherwise why would they duct tape him and stab him in the leg- just for kicks? if so, this mephedrone sounds extremely nasty and should damn well be illegal. how else can a society react to the existence of such a chemical?

alcohol and tobacco do kill people, but they're a lot more clean feeling to me than shit like PMA and crack and shit. I've felt like killing myself on a coke comedown before, same with E or meth. but alcohol and tobacco never do that... when will some bluelighters stop whining about alcohol and stop glamorizing hard drugs?

^ I've done mephedrone hundreds of times.. i never stabbed anyone.. or robbed anyone.. -_-

Alcohol a "clean feeling" drug!? Personally I find it the dirtiest of drugs for both the 'dunk' sensation and the hangover afterwards. But that's just me…

As for wanting to kill yourself while on (or after) stimulants, that's not the drug, that's just you…

I actually agree with Controldenied here about the comedown of stimulants, I actually hate the comedown so much that I do not even do stimulants anymore, that's just me though.

I was in a head shop last night and I asked which of their herbal incenses were the most popular and they said that their son had a "bad reaction" to the Cloud 10 product that was on the shelf in their store. The "bad reaction" was that the store owner's son had killed his own 18 month old son after smoking the Cloud 10. The store owner described the Cloud 10 as some "pretty strong stuff". I don't get why they would be selling it anymore, let alone still smoking it, if they believed that their son killed his own child, and that Cloud 10 was the reason for it. WTF?

I don't believe any of it. I did, however, end up trying some of the Cloud 10. It was decent, but I've had better products. I didn't kill anyone afterwards.

Morons.

It's people like these that give things a bad name.

no its not just me...its me on stimulants. dumb-ass :D

But it was you who decided to do the stims knowing the possibilities of a harsh come down. But even then the come downs can be made easy with a few aids to help you along the way. (exp) benzos, liquor, cold shower or just using your mind to make your self relax. I can almost meditate my self out of a bad comedown.

it only happened once that badly,

but you cant tell me im the only one who experiences nasty comedowns from E, coke, especially crack... LOL... no these are harmless, spiritual medicines. The problem lies in Me, not they. 8)

Nobody forces you to pop a pill or snort coke or smoke crack, you did it yourself, knowing that you'd have to face a comedown at the end of it.
