UK nitrous oxide ban considered

There's little point in MPs having specialist advisory panels if they simply ignore their advice when convenient. It's always the same

The three times the wife was in labour, I was huffing on that nitrous even more that she was. It was actually quite pleasant (even though it gave me a nosebleed). But those fuckin canisters pale into insignificance when compared to the pharmaceutical shit...
I fucking hated it! I had it during labour and told them to take it the fuck away from me. I was still in pain, I was just seeing shit and imagining all sorts whilst being in pain. What a shit time it was. I demanded to get an epidural which of course didn't work but finally got a spinal and I was sweet!!! Thank god for dangerous procedures taking the pain away.

The way it's used medically is as as 20% solution in medical air. People are hugging the 100% stuff. N2O has a MAC10 of 1.4 i.e. you cannot induce surgical anesthesia with it.

Could be worse - ladies have told me they were pethidine (Demerol) and then were barred from seeing their child until they came down. Intraspinal anesthesia is excellent for many forms of pain. But you are right - it poses risks.

Mark my words, SOMEONE will find anything you care to hate 'nice'. That's people...

In dentistry I know sometimes they’ll use 50% N2O 50% O2.

My brother broke his leg recently and was given hydromorphone, fentanyl and ketamine until the pain subsided. That would be what I’d want in such a situation.

I'm trying to imagine the NHS ever prescribing those. 😲 The best you'd get in the UK in a situation like that is probably just some Co-codomal (Paracetemol + a minute amount of codeine)

To be fair this was the nurses and paramedics administering the doses, he only got oxycodone.. :) I’m proud of myself, they were sitting there the whole time out right in front of me and I never took any. God did my mind think about it quite a bit..

It also causes destruction of the body's stores of vitamin B12, but when has that ever interfered with the desire to get high. You can make it by heating ammonium nitrate, but for the people who think the RP/I2 is well suited for home meth synthesis, I have two words: on second thoughts, several words, but 'Prevention of Terrorism Act', for people wanting to buy some, but lacking te excuse of an arable farm...

Nice bit of British emotional blackmail propaganda. I do wonder how Stevo from Jackass was able to not fuck himself into a wheelchair with NO2 whilst this lass did.

Fuckin shoddy journalism as usual. Notice how the fat Irish cunt (can't remember his name) calls it "nitrous dioxide"? Get your facts straight Paddy before commenting on shit you know nothing about. It's N2O, not NO2.

As for why Stevo got away with it, although he's a prick, he's obviously not as big a prick as this lass...

Maybe it's time to start stocking up on the magic.

N₂O is just about only drug I wouldn’t even consider stocking up, is that even possible lol? I just made my peace with idea once it’s gone I’ll use it in countries where it’s legal or maybe ocasionaly be blessed by old stock or laboratory stuff. I don’t get big canisters cuz it’s impossible, I don’t get them cuz I suspect I would end up using seriously unhealthy amounts. I tried to stock up for few days few times and I just ended up reaching K.O. doses until I run out. Hippy crack is for me even more fiendish than real crack, a lot more in fact cuz I much prefer dissos to stims.

I’m not in UK but N₂O will probably be banned in my country at some point almost certainly and probably not in too distant future as UK folks littering all over when they come here will be one of reasons if not the main reason. It was already proposed years ago when drug law was rigorously updated to envelope many things but some kind souls didn’t included it nor made a blanket ban for phenetylamines or lysergamides but they did ban tryptamine and analogues lol.

I wonder about NO, anyone tried it? It should produce effects too if I’m not wrong, unlike NO₂, which is highly toxic gas.
I would also considered narkocetylene (acetylene), it might be interesting too and probably not too dangerous.

I like many aesthetics nos, ether, chloroform, ethen are all interesting with chloroform being very toxic and high doses.. That not totally understood mechanism of action of many anesthetics, when discovered might bring a lot new cool drugs as they differ strongly in effects to K and other NMDA antagonists.

A cursory search will reveal how reactive NO is. It will oxidize to NO₂ and that, as you know, is a deeply unpleasant compound. Acetylene was considered as an anesthetic as early as the 1920s and has advantages. But since it's rather reactive and the concentrations required for sedation and surgical anaesthesia are both in the 10-20% range, it's a hazardous option.

It's the fact that the WORST the UK government could state about laughing gas was that it caused antisocial behavior, it's reasonable to suggest that the mortality rate is reasonably low. Yes it can cause more serious issues in a small minority of cases, but I would argue that alcohol is by far the more dangerous option.

We still use N₂O medically, ethanol vanishingly rarely.

My girlfriend got the spinal for her last baby and the twat doctor fucked it up and permanently damaged her spine pushed all the way through and did some sort of damage caused the pressure of the fluids to alter forever. Eventually had to have back surgery and she still deals with pain regardless.

It also altered the way the fluids flow and caused pressure in her head giving migraines and it travelled into her optical nerve, fucked up her eyesight and now she had to ware glasses. Its really horrible honestly, the fact that one day effects her all these years later is disturbing.

I’m the same. This is the only drug that I’m like “meh I could take it or leave it..” That said I did just inadvertently stock up when I bought a 6 pack of the big boys.

If you want medical grade nitrous, what worked for me t go to toilet in dentists, just before climbing into chair and IM an almost anaesthetic dose of ket. Within 15 econds the dentist is cancelling the appointment, while you mumble about being terrified of extractions. Instant referral to dental hospital, even if staggering back to your folks' car gets you the filthiest glare possible, from disappointed parents.

All 4 wisdom teeth removed with nitrous enhanced analgesia. Piece of piss!! 😆

THe Dutch banned because people were driving while under the influence and causing accidents.
