Drug warning after clubbers at Beckton party fall ill

People who attended a warehouse party in London have been warned by police not to take drugs bought at the venue.

A number of people who went to the party at Hillcroft Road, in Beckton on Friday suffered extreme reactions after taking a substance believed to MDMA.

At least three clubbers went to an east London hospital for treatment, with one person suffering potentially life threatening injuries, police said.

Officers are investigating who supplied the drugs.

A Met Police spokesman said: "We strongly advise anyone who bought drugs at the party last night not to take these as the consequences could be potentially life threatening."

I wonder if this is in any way related to the PMMA adulterated mortal kombats that killed that girl not too long ago, wtf is up with pressers and PMMA, I'm starting to think they are intentionally trying to kill people.

Another media outlet reports it like this:

"People who bought fake drugs believing it to be MDMA have been left in hospital after a warehouse party in Beckton, east London."

which is a step forward from just ignorantly calling any substance bought at a party 'ecstasy'.

I think some of the problem these days stems from the growth in popularity of bulk powders. It's too easy for an unscrupulous street dealer to pass a bag of powder off as MDMA or mix something else into real MDMA to bulk it out. They then sell a bag of their 'MDMA' to an unsuspecting punter, who won't know what they're really getting or how much to dose and then mixes it with a drink for consumption.

Lots of opportunities to get it wrong with that method of drug-taking.
