IN brightly coloured packets they look like sweets and can be bought on the High Street as easily as a bag of pick ’n’ mix.

They are “legal highs” — but in most cases, it is illegal to sell them for human consumption.

And more and more are being declared entirely illegal because they are so dangerous.

Last Thursday clubbers’ favourite Mexxy — real name Methoxetamine — was outlawed after two deaths were linked to it.

But a Sun investigation can reveal that for each legal high taken off the shelves, numerous alternatives flood in to take their place, ready to be snapped up by party-loving young Brits.

god i hate the nomenclature of the sun so god damn much. "clubbers favourite" really? all men are "blokes", all british citizens "brits" etc etc. fuckin anti intellectual piece of shit.

Exactly...the media seems to run on labeling people and attempted to use descriptive words that really don't make any damn sense. Men should be called men, people that go to clubs should be called people. I've met a wide variety of people at clubs. Not all of them use drugs, some include alcohol in their nonuse, some choose to drink. These factors shouldn't define people, however.

Lumping everyone that attends clubs into the drug using category is unfair.

The Sun is one of/if not the worst tabloid here in the UK.

That article had so many faults and a lot of misinformation that I'm not going to waste my time pointing them all out, I'm just disregarding it as trash, which is where the sun belongs.

Unfortunately discrimination against people who use illegal and legal drugs other than the acceptable alcohol and nicotine, is seen as ok by press and government, so that's one minority the tabloid press can rubbish. The Sun are the worst and they hold a lot of power.

Nice job good to see them cracking down to save our kids from the grip of satan's temtations 8). What is really sick is they acknowledge that when a legal high gets banned it just gets replaced by a newer more deadly one yet they still continue to march on with their lost cause. I can just see a new more potent longer lasting more toxic dissasociative poping up with even less research done on it now that mxe is banned in the uk and most likely will be in the US.

I kind of want to try MPA now though!

However, I'm glad we don't have RCs being sold in headshops in the US. At least, not in my city. Other than some 'noids. Thing is, it actually does take a little bit of savvyness to track them down online. Any idiot can walk into a headshop and buy it.
