A pill “as dangerous as ecstasy” is readily available over the counter in the city.

Sussex Police is warning of the dangers of legal highs as an Argus reporter was able to easily purchase Benzo Fury, which experts say has side effects including loss of appetite, hallucinations and paranoia. It comes as Sussex’s top drugs cop warned of another legal high called Barry White, which can cause mental health problems.

Researchers from Roehampton University in London examined the effects of Benzo Fury and said in a report that the legal high was as dangerous as ecstasy. Side-effects They discovered the man-made amphetamine gave users a sense of euphoria, working on brain tissue in the same way as stimulants and hallucinogenics.

Maybe "As harmfull as Alcohol" and you might have me worried
 
I'd say it is a pretty safe chemical since it has been out for two years and, in the UK at least, there are no confirmed deaths from it. The government have been watching it like a hawk waiting for a single fatality to justify an emergency ban and the one case in Scotland where 6-APB was suspected turned out to be due to poly-drug use, not involving 6-APB.

I'm not saying 6-APB is safer than MDMA because the only time MDMA was legal (and known pure) was before 1977 in the UK and before 1984 in the US. As far as I know there were no deaths before then even though it was already being used recreationally in the US by that time. The problem is we don't know exactly what the harmful effects of any entactogen are because they are either too new or have never been available on a massive scale in a pure form.

There were certainly "ecstasy" deaths in the UK in the first two years it was popular, 1987 onwards. However since it was already illegal by then the purity was already suspect. Although there were less other things it could have been other than MDMA there were probably also plenty of ways to make it badly.
