A friend of mine in the "legal highs" market is thinking about synthesising a large quantity of 4-Flouroamphetamine to sell on the UK market.

When he mentioned it I was surprised, I was under the impression that 4-FA is illegal in the UK.

After some Bluelighting it would appear i'm right, the general consensus is that it's a controlled substance, but why?

"The 1977 mod. order to the MoDA makes any amphetamine ring substituted with a halogen (like fluorine) a class A "

Somebody posted this, and I know it seem specific but I'm not chemist ;)

Can somebody point out the relevant clause in the MoDA? I'd like to show my friend definitive proof.

Thanks chaps.

PEA

Now the section that covers things derived from PEA.
any compound (not being methoxyphenamine or a compound for the time being specified in sub-paragraph (a) above) structurally derived from phenethylamine, an N-alkylphenethylamine, a-methylphenethylamine, an N- alkyl-a-methyl-phenethylamine, a-ethylphenethylamine, or an N-alkyl-a- ethylphenethylamine by substitution in the ring to any extent with alkyl, alkoxy, alkylenedioxy or halide substituents, whether or not further substituted in the ring by one or more other univalent substituents.

I assume the Halide Substituents bit will catch 4-fa but it's been 2 years since I did chemistry so someone may correct me.

Chances are he'd be legally fucked over anyway if he was caught. I'm not up with synth but surely the intermediates and precursors are illegal considering you need some PEA skeleton to synth to this? I don't know much about 4-fa but It doesn't sound like my cup of tea.

I'm no fan of pure stimulants, I did amphetamine once and while it was enjoyable, it wasn't for me.

His lab is abroad so I don't think he'll have any issues there, but like I say, he is a legal high retailer, given it's legal status, then it's dead.

I'm interest because he's a friend, and also I'd be quite keen to try mixing 4-FA and MDAI. It might be rather a nice combo.

Ah well. Silly drug laws win again.

I think the legal high market should take a years break before even trying to find a new chemical at least enough time until the mephedrone storm blows over. You should get your friend to temp in a call centre or something xD

True that.

The legal high market should move away form "Plant food", take the fuckers on on their terms. There are quite a few chemicals out there that could start proper, legal testing and conceivably be branded, patented and sold as "DRUGS". For human consumption. Could be already happening.

I do know there are some AMAZING things coming. Stuff I didn't know about, and stuff I'd been waiting for for years. Not filth like bastardized pyrovalerones or cardiofucking cathinones but a wide range of wonderously innovate new things. Something for everyone.

I'm merely a consumer :) I write computer programs for my money, but I'm pleased that there will soon be nice clean, benign drugs on offer.
