I think it's something to do with how quick it wares off, seems the only way I'll K-hole is by just sniffing a monster line that knocks me out, knowing my luck I'd simply fall asleep rather than experience a proper K-hole.

Maybe my 'magic combo' for K is just doing small bumps alongside a roll on MDMA, as the K-hole/Heavy dosage route just doesn't seem to be the right thing for me individually.

MDMA + K is a bit of a special combo - they just go together brilliantly. Especially on the tail end of the MDMA. Bumps for peaking, lines for coming down was always my favoured approach but whatever floats ya boat really. There's no obligation to enjoy all drugs.

Firstly, please don't use terms like 'SWIM' - aside from being utterly pointless and irritating to read when used excessively it's actually against site rules. Stick with the first person - there is no legal protection in pretending it's not you.

That aside, I'd very much doubt there was any type of RC being passed off as ketamine in '99-'00. There was virtually no RC scene back then anyway - certainly not like there is today - and ket analogues only became available relatively recently. They simply weren't any back then. Plus ketamine was still legal in the UK at the time I think - certainly dirt cheap and virtually always pure anyway. It's more recent times since prohibition it's become a lot dodgier. Surprisingly enough 8)

Cooking is just an alternative to crushing when using larger crystals - it turns large crystals into fine powder but is no different from crushing thoroughly by hand. There's an inordinate amount of bullshit myths surrounding ketamine and all the stuff about cooking is one of 'em. It's just crushing via the medium of hot water essentially. The solution is evaporated rapidly which makes the crystals formed much smaller - very small crystals = powder basically. If you do the same thing on a far lower heat (or indeed simply leave out on a plate with no heat for several hours) you get much larger crystals. There is no difference otherwise - ketamine is ketamine. Or at least it used to be. Has been a while since there was much chance of getting pure ket from dealers. Used to be the only drug you could virtually guarantee was never cut. Sadly no longer the case

Good call in not buying that vial - I thought the fella offering me vials was taking the piss wanting £15 apiece for 'em.

Ketamine vials afaik are either 50mg/ml or 100mg/ml and tend to come 5ml vials. I would happily pay through the teeth for a vial, not to use, but just as a keepsake, a momento.

As an IM/IV user of ketamine, sterile vials would be ideal for me, although they appear to be unattainable. I always get large shards or cuboid looking crystals, I've never cooked them, they crush easily enough - but even then I only need to dissolve them in Sterile Water, which is rather easy anyway.

What weight of powder would you get from a # ml vial?

It completely varies between brand, I know only of 50mg/ml and 100mg/ml in 5-10ml vials, although they've always eluded me.

I've never, ever weighed ketamine. Maybe you're being too cautious?

I would ALWAYS weigh ketamine, Too little sucks, Too much leaves a blank. Ketamine is weight responsive, so bigger people need a larger dose.

I weigh 55kg / 121lbs - According to Erowid I would require .75mg/lb to hole which works out at 90mg's IM

My regime is 65-70mg shots (spaced about 30 minutes apart), the first two just make me a little wonky (kinda a waste) the third one gives me mild CEV's, the fourth and fifth shots blast me into the stratosphere, If I continue to shoot my memory becomes heavily impaired.

If I dose higher than 70mg in a shot, I have strange heart issues (panic attack, ectopic beats, psychosomatic or something else, I don't know!)

However it's worth noting that if I wait 24 hours and take a single 65mg shot, I will hole. I don't have to repeat the initial "warm up" shots.

Re doing it at night I agree that's better but at night my bloody scouse neighbours always moan at me for my bassy music, I'll just shut all my windows and curtains and make a funny ket sanctuary in my bedroom haha.

I'd have tons I could suggest, but I'll off you the one that you would never think would work with ketamine Rome the album by Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi feat. Norah Jones The album is a story, and in my case I do my shot and hit play, it guides me through my adventure. Just an unusual combination. I highly recommend the album anyway

Snort lines that are smaller more often and you don't get a drip and absorb it all nasally which should be more effective. There's only so much a nose can absorb at any one time - the rest just ends up swallowed and oral ket is kinda useless unless you swallow a shitload. If you get a drip you're wasting ket. I do realise that in reality very few have the discipline to stick to a little and often routine cos it is somewhat counterintutive that small lines will get you higher than massive ones. Massive ones obviously work but you do waste a lot.

Using a "Bullet" works well if you like to dose this way, and I hear sudafed is great for afterwards

I can't speak for Ketamine, but with other drugs, using two straws and alternating between snorting water and chemical works brilliantly. Stops you getting bunged up - Just my experience, if you want me to elaborate just ask

And yeah with all those snorting techniques. It's funny i like to think i'm a bit of a veteran with it but people are shocked when i hoof up huge lines and loads falls out haha. It's times like these (droughts) that make me look back in horror. Gunna take so much care next time i get some k hahah

A bit of food for thought, most people completely disregard sublingual K because it tastes foul (and it really does!) but if you dissolve it in water and hold it under your tongue it works well

It's all about insufflating with ket if you're not interested in IM route, lots of discussion on it but in summary due to bioavailability eating/oral ketamine requires much higher doses (also tends to not be very kind to your stomach etc at all) and so I would basically count anything that comes beyond sniffing it, e.g. a drip in back of throat/taste of ketamine a waste to an extent. It's generally recommended if you're getting into regular ketamine use to spit the drip - a lot more studies are going into ketamine now though and it's effect on organs so with even google you can find lots of info compared to even a few years ago.

Best way to go about it is using both nostrils from experience but with regards to doing loads over time I found it sometimes fucks up on you because your nostrils can clog and sniffing isn't possible - doesn't take much if you have a tolerance with some of the stuff I came across last year.

There are remedies for stuffy nostrils, but it depends on the cause. I'll list the ones I would recommend

Sudafed (nasal spray - recommended by a friend, a "god send" he says - not used personally)
Traditional hot steam - add menthol eucalyptus whatever you think helps, as it starts to clear rinse with saline
Massaging Sinus Pressure Points - This works really well for me, once they clear slightly I snort saline a few times to properly clean them out
Buteyko method -I came across a method a couple of months ago whilst I had a cold which I think was this, and it worked really well, I vaguely remember pinching my nose and holding my breath before releasing my nose to take a breath. I might have that wrong, and remember with K's influence YMMV.

Are you sure what you have is Ket? 250mg should send somebody under without any hesitation with none/low tolerance??

Ive only experienced nausea when really drunk before hand. We're all different though I guess.

I never get nauseous, I don't mix with alcohol though. Ketamine is only for holing imho

I can confirm that Sudafed (and other similar nasal sprays - I think Vick's do a good one too) is an absolute godsend for nasal ket sessions. In fact for any session that involves mucho snorting of stuffs. Really does clean out your passageways which is a major issue when sniffing ket in particular.

I know people who have it, but it's price jumped. I can't comment on the quality, nor the volume. May just be dribs and drabs.

I think it's all the recent seizures - I have no idea on the size of the Global Ketamine market, nor how much of a dint 2600kg+ worth of losses would make, but I'd imagine it would hinder supply, and the demand is as big as ever.

There was a second thread on Bluelight somewhere (or maybe it was this one) I posted the manchester/crewe/sandbach bust, but here's a few others I know of. If you've read about any others please do post them

It does seems to be quite a large drought, certainly the largest I have seen in a long time. I know people who move large amounts of drugs and even they haven't seen any. The only thing that is going around is ket cut with mkat, or just fake stuff as you mention.

Good info on the rest of it though - especially good to know there's potentially dangerous "ketamine" being sold. Not good in the good sense obviously. Useful would perhaps be a better word. Under the circumstances it would likely be wise for anybody who does come across any supposed ket to treat it with caution and test before using. I do believe there are test kits which can identify ketamine but am not familiar with them myself - if anybody has a better idea it would be good to know cos totally fake and potentially toxic is not good and is not something that's ever been an issue with ketamine previously. Prohibition ftw

Some notes: Applied to gums numbing effect occurred – slightly different than ketamine. There was a strong salty taste and some burning - not dissimilar to table salt.

A Mandelin reagent test produced an oily sheen followed by a glint of orange after 30 seconds, then darkened to black. Ketamine should just go orange. This process was repeated with a different mandelin to confirm the mandelin the result was not due to contamination or other factors.

An easy (but not foolproof) check for fake Ketamine is with 99% isopropyl alcohol. Normal ketamine is soluble in isopropyl alcohol; some cuts are NOT soluble - beware isopropyl alcohol can draw water from the air to dissolve the cuts, you need to perform this in a controlled environment (a small tub-aware at least)

Problems when consuming the "contaminated" batches.

Noticed some swelling and darkening in the joints of my extremities, could be internal bruising - there is no pain. This fake product is to be suspected, since it has been consumed in small amounts over a short period of time. Anecdotally the symptoms could be in line with an anticoagulant effect causing small hemorrhages in joints – since joints are continually moving, this is a common symptom of anticoagulant activity.

I would urge people who start obtaining ketamine to run some rudimentary testing on it to be sure, especially if you are an IM/IV user.

What quick/easy/basic tests can be done on ketamine to verify the product, or show cuts/contaminants? - I'd like to consolidate it into a single post people can reference, especially if the ketamine market is a little iffy at the moment. I'll even volunteer and document my first g for testing.

I don't know if it's just a rumour, but of the bad stuff circulating in Brighton, people are saying it's been cut with MSG, i've tried some of this stuff and i didn't get wonky at all and it burnt my nose craaaazily.
