Like, yes, I see that, but I feel some bullshittery is afoot HERE.
Like, if I was, say, opioid-naive and complained of severe pain and she was like "here are some 200mg Morphine Sulphates" and I died of an 0D, or she prescribed me Flucloxacillin for a dental abscess and it was on my records that I was allergic to Penicillin...YES, absolutely that is 100% her fault and she should be held accountable.
But this is not THAT.
I have a bunch of prescriptions I get post-dated every 2 weeks [on Fridays], that she signs off first-thing in the morning on those days [like, everyone who has those scripts done, not me, especially] 'cause the doctors open an hour before the pharmacy.
Due to me having both a known history of addiction [but only alcohol, that she knows about] and needing strong opioids, she has decided 0NLY SHE can prescribe any of my meds [no other doctors at the practice.
Today, I ended up suffering withdrawal* until after 1pm instead because she wasn't in this morning...but she KNEW I'd be without meds extra-time. Also, now I'm worried what happens if one of these times if she's off work sick that day? Esp. with it being a Fri, it would mean I'd be going like Thurs evening to Mon morning at the least.
Also, if anything that happens to me as a result of being prescribed too much, too soon, or similar, is her responsibility, surely then the inverse has to true and anything happening to me as a result of my being unable to access medications - due to her direct actions - is ALS0 her legal responsibility?
Like, Morphine is just one of the meds. My Anti-Epileptics are included, too. I could seriously injure myself falling when I fit...also, I already have hypoxic brain damage because I stop breathing during seizures. I'm also an insulin-dependant diabetic, and diabetes + opioid withdrawal can cause kidney failure together.
*I ran out like 24hrs early, but, the script is MEANT to end Thurs evening, and she D0ES know I struggle Fri mornings waiting til 9am when the Pharmacy opens as I have usually gone 14-15hrs without any Morphine by then
a/n I also have 2 stories about times a medical professional DID fuck up my meds in a way that did me harm that will elucidate on my this-be-somewhat-be-bovine-feces theory that I will probably add later...my "o" key is broken so I have to copy-paste that letter EVERY TIME which makes typing anything remotely length feel really taxing and time-consuming
