I'm a southern transplant to the northwest. I'm not much of a coke user but when friends order a gram it always comes in way underweight. Apparently this is usual as dealers work to a "standard gram" which is 800mg. In addition high quality coke is apparently sold not only for a higher price but also in lighter "grams" than the normal stuff.

This sounds to me like a bunch of naive people are being ripped off by bullshit dealer talk but my friends insist that I'm the naive one in not knowing this universal truth. All I can say is that when I used to buy coke in the South about 10 years ago, a gram weighed 1000mg (obviously). Anything else was a rip-off and would have resulted in me finding a new source. Coke was more expensive then (but it also contained cocaine - another topic entirely).
 
It's been happening for at least a decade.

I was 'fortunate' enough to have a friend who went into dealing the stuff, and so I got a gram every time, but 0.8 was the standard, and that was back when a <£100 'gram' had more than 10% actual cocaine in it. What's now known as 'pub coke' was only just emerging.

It helped that the coke I was buying was meant for basing, so quality was way above average to begin with. Of course, it became progressively adulterated as the market for powder coke grew here (Manchester).

Coke is a racket in this country. Haven't been tempted to dip my toes in for six years now, and I feel better for it.

I've never posted on this subgroup before. I'm surprised that price discussion is allowed. Hence my intentional vagueness .

I've not heard of 'pub coke'. This is obviously the stuff I now have access to. It almost certainly doesn't contain any coke. At least not enough to feel like coke. It just feels like a random short acting stimulant (maybe ethylphenidate?) mixed with a local anaesthetic that doesn't numb in the same way as coke. It smells of diesel, not coke. It's white and hard/crunchy, rather than cream and damp/soft and it gives you a fuzzy head rather than the clear euphoria of real coke.

It also shorts even the pathetic "standard gram". I weighed a 'gram' my friend got and it was 575mg (of pure poison).

I'm fucking surprised that the current generation of coke heads don't lynch their dealers. The bare-faced ripoffery is amazing.
 
Totally agree. If you get lucky enough to find a decent, straight up dealer selling decent gear (sob I had that once...) hold on to him and don't ring em at 4am too many times unless they are doing a night shift or have minions. You can test your coke at home there are online tests available to readily purchase for cuts aswell..mods am I allowed to say that..grey area about test kits always confuses me.

Save your money. Just not worth it unless you get very lucky.
 
I had a dealer that would always chuck in a free 'gram of coke' whenever I bought some weed. Needless to say it most definitely weighed less than 1g and most probably was in the region of 5% coke...as mentioned by others - even when I'd tell him I didn't want it, he figured he could make a coke head out of me yet...the arrogance.

I really wouldn't bother unless it was amazing stuff (on tap).
 
I guess the upside is that there's less people with coke problems. This stuff isn't moreish in the slightest.
 
Decent quality for a reasonable price is out there, dealers that sell it are very few and far between though. I never take gram to actually mean anything, it's more like 'can I have 1 bag of cocaine'. You should get spot on measures if you are buying it by the point but people that are selling it by the point are doing it for a reason, it's usually fucking expensive.

At the end of the day people will pay money for what they deem acceptable. If they think some bash for 40 quid is acceptable then that is up to them. I can get decent (wouldn't say great but better than average) for a reasonable weight and price which I am prepared to pay. Some George Jung wannabe will probably denounce it as shit, "this cocaine hasn't been extracted by Peruvian virgin orphans in the highest quality tupperwear using fairtrade organic coca leaves picked by trained orangutans" but I enjoy it so who cares. I've not bought any for months though and friends who have bought off the same guy have said the quality has dropped so probably wont bother in the foreseeable future.

Did you check that the dealer was a member of the CICD (Certified Institute of Cocaine Dealers)? No?

There are no 'standards' in the unregulated market of illegal drugs. Low level dealers will sell whatever they can get away with, i.e. whatever the buyer is prepared to pay for. People have to reject this nonsense; stop funding this trade of toxic shite.
 
Have you seen the current generation?... I say get your own quality product, sell it or use it... I rarely rely on street dealers for anything

Unless you know the bigger dealers... then your likely to be getting fucked
 
there is good cocaine around (although yes the majority of it isnt worth buying) , whether or not you have the right source for it is a totally different matter.
 
Last I heard... there is a cocaine draught in the UK, unless things have changed over like 2 weeks
 
I know when buying gear I've heard people say they have brought a 'street gram' which was around 800-900mg of gear.

Then of course you could buy a proper gram.

Wasn't sure why people didn't just say half a tenth.
 
know a girl who could get decent £100 stuff which i bought a few times awhile ago, seemed decent, was slightly underweight though. been offered lines of other stuff which barley touched me. bang for buck gimmi decent speed or meph any day of the week. would never buy stuff off the street now, net only
 
Im with you there, I can get coke locally £120 a gram. Which if you like amazing coke then fair enough, Im not into coke really so never buy. I purchased crack and that turned out to be shit, thats when I realised the whole coke thing aint me. Does feel fuckin nice though man.
 
All the reasons why I think coke is the most pointless drug these days. Overpriced, underweight, low quality trash most of the time. If you still buy it despite all this, then you deserve to be mugged off.
 
Loved the stuff i tried... but for the price.. sod that. got some other awhile back off the net, made me quite ratty and irritable, rarely get like that on anything... only on comedowns.. dunno what it was cut with. dunno if that was on weight or not
