COPS have launched a massive anti-drug crackdown at Royal Ascot to stop racegoers getting high in front of The Queen.
Officers with sniffer dogs have been patrolling the grounds to ensure punters don't indulge in illegal substances at the Berkshire course.
And racecourse bosses have even installed a drugs HONESTY box for the first time - giving race-goers the chance to give up their narcotics before they enter the turnstiles.
The drugs blitz saw two arrests for suspected cocaine possession on day one of the five-day Royal meeting - a favourite with high society and big-name celebrities.
A source told The Sun: "People assume it's just the horses who face dope tests at the racing. But there are nearly 40,000 people coming through the doors - so it's only to be expected some will bring drugs.
"This is the biggest week in British horseracing. Punters make a day of it. They want to come to Ascot, drink champagne and get wasted on booze and whatever else."
Police made ten arrests on the first day of the meeting.
Supt Andy Standen, police commander for the event, said: "I am pleased to report that only a small handful of people were arrested on day one of Royal Ascot, from crowd numbers exceeding 40,000."
One lucky punter won £234,620 at Ascot yesterday. The 45-year-old, from Stevenage, Herts, scooped the money in a £33 accumulator, in which he backed four winners, including Lolly for Dolly at 14/1.
