UH oH, Basic favorite exercise Thread!?

nah I don't have much issue, kinda rubs my dick a bit lol but that's all. Some seem to have a tough time tho, I barely even scratch my shins even when maxing.

So none of you pros have problems with the barbell grazing your ball bag when finishing a deadlift?

I have long arms so lockout the bar is RIGHT below my balls resting against my quads. So no, I don't smash my nuts. =D

dude, I'd like to see a video of your form...I know you mix it up with sumo, reverse grip, etc....my straight leg form is impeccable but when I reverse my grip, and widen my stance for heavier weight, things get a little unbalanced.....my physique is naturally uneven so it might be due to this.

Do you use chalk? gloves? after 225, I struggle to hit the 6 rep range with good form

I can hit 500 raw. I use straps for stuff over that. I've never used chalk before. My stance is regular shoulder width apart. I rarely use sumo form.

Maybe I'll get some videos of me deadlifting sometime during summer. I'd actually like to see my form and see what people think.

Go for it bro...I don't think there are any members in my entire gym who can DL as much as you.....so you dont use reverse grip?

Do you slightly point your feet outwards like a squat stance?

niice curl shith3ad. working my way up on the lateral raises *deltoids* anyone feel 10lbsX14reps signifies i should switch to a 15lbsX5+ each arm for mass building?

you jokin frosty?

throw those 10lbs dummies in the trash, asap ;)

14 reps is too far outta the range for typeII fibers as far as I know, you'd want to up the weight and drop the reps. This is a shot in the dark, but based on those weights, I'm *guessing* you're not keeping a good bend in your elbows, if that's the case you may try that (although remember that since your arms are closer in you'll need to up the weight a lil bit more).

hey now! Smack killz muscles & fat like nothing else. Id think if i didnt waste my time with drugs when i was younger id be a lil farther ahead but ittzz maadd hard to gain weight & last time i checked i was 120lbs,& i think i may have gained a few lbs from lifting the last 2weeks & much muscle milk. Although i do love it when people 2-3x my size start shiiitt having a fast metabolism etc. has its set backs. & i do keep my elbows straiight but on occasion ill do a set of weird angles in order to hit every possible muscle fiber yaahhh know? BUt yeah thanks for the headss up Mr. Buff! Its been a lil since iv gotten the chance to get back in (sumhow locked outta user account for 5days!?) the steroid discussion. Would you mind elaborating on the type system? Im not too familiar with that.

type I - slow twitch
types IIa and IIb - fast twitch

slow twitch fibers have far less potential for hypertrophy (growth), hence skinny legs on marathon runners. Slow twitch fibers are, to oversimplify, your endurance muscle fibers.

fast twitch fibers don't have that endurance potential, but they have capacity for fast bursts of strength, sprinting short distances, squatting, benching. Fast twitch fibers have a much higher capacity for hypertrophy than slow twitch.

ahh yes i remember in the genetic thread someone stated that african americans *aka black people especially the kayans(sp?)* have much more of the fast twitch fibers then most races.
