The Nepalese Temple Hash is actually a mixture of hash and opium, 1/6 or 1/7th opium mixed with 5/6 or 6/7ths hash.
No it really isn't.

I bought some stuff in Amsterdam that was labled as "Nepalese Temple Hash" I think the probability of it being the real deal is pretty low. It was nice and relaxing but not couch lock at all. Could have been anything, I'm no expert on hash. Would love to go up there and try it. Apparently the north indian charas and nepalese charas are all made from sativas. It would probably be easier to buy a nepalese or north indian himalayan strain and make your own. (Not to mention cheaper)
I had Moroccan Hash while visiting Granada Spain in the late 1990s. It was a tiny amount bitten off of a large golf ball size ball of hash that was a gift to me. It was hard and I smoked it in a pipe since I had bought one, and I didn't want to roll a spliff with it. I got a psychedelic high from it, and I think it was a Sativa. I ate it the next day and had a nice energetic mellow high but it was not like your couch locked Indica high. I've never had it since; but is most Moroccan hash Sativa or does it vary?
Friends of mine who were around in the 70s described Nepalese temple balls has anyone ever smoked any of that type of hash?
I was just in Amsterdam and betting you got the temple balls from the Dampkring near Leidseplein. They had a nice buzz but were a cunt to work with and slightly overpriced imo. Personally I preferred the zero zero, manali cream and turkish hash I picked up while I was there.
PriestTheyCalledHim I was under the impression that the vast ajority (if not all) of Moroccan hash was indica dominant, and certainly the handful of Moroccan hashes I have smoked have all been so. They produce a lot of hashish in that country and I am sure some sativa dominant hash is available, I guess it was probably sold as zero zero as this would be the most well known Moroccan hash I am aware of.
Chainer, I 100% agree with you that the most potent forms of hash are generally domestically produced these days in the forms of high grade bubble hash/ honey oil and wax, however, despite the potency of these preparations I do find that they lack a certain something that traditionally produced hashish made from landrace strains that people have been smoking for thousands of years possess. It isn't always about getting skull fuck stoned, and since my early days I probably have never been so lit off anything other than my home made BHO, but there is something to be said about the pleasantness and more clearheadedness of the buzz of more traditional forms of hashish. To each their own though, just my 2c.
Sometimes I think with weed and hash the most potent is too quickly regarded as the best, but the truth is that the character of the high also has a big influence on how enjoyable it is. I have smoked plenty of weed and hash that was less potent than other strains but because of the overall buzz I found it to be more enjoyable.
