tylenoel with codeine vs promenthazine with codeine

There are a few major differences between tylenol/codeine and promethazine/codeine.
Tylenol-with-codeine is intended primarily as an analgesic (pain relief medication), the Tylenol (acetaminophen) is intended primarily to help with inflammatory pain but doesn't do anything else. Acetaminophen is also quite hard on your liver if you take enough of it; doctors are discouraged from prescribing Tylenol-with-codeine in quantities above 325mg acetaminophen per dose due to elevated risk of liver damage. Tylenol-with-codeine is a very poor choice of medication if you're looking to get high off the opiates (unless you're prepared to do a cold-water extraction to strip out the acetaminophen), especially in the formulations with higher ratios of acetaminophen to codeine.
Promethazine is a sedative/anti-emetic drug in the phenothiazine family; it's chemically fairly similar to (but only 1/10 as effective as an antipsychotic as) chlorpromazine (brand name Thorazine, stay the hell away from that stuff); it's a strong antihistamine, a moderate anticholinergic, and a weak antagonist in a whole bunch of different places including D2 (dopamine), 5HT-2A/C (serotonin), and alpha (adrenaline). Apparently you might be able to get some euphoria out of it if you co-administer it with opiates, but it's got a side effect profile that reads like Thorazine's little brother. I wouldn't advise using a promethazine-codeine combination recreationally, and I have no idea how to strip the promethazine out of such a combo.
