Benzos Two Questions, Benzos (duration of xanax effects) and GBL

Are benzos ment to help with paranoia? /ive been getting paranoia issues and still started getting them on 3mg xanax earlier in town whilst out,

Also how long do the effects of benzos like xanax usually last? i took about 3mg before town earlier about 8-9 hours ago, and i decided to smoke some weed and its come back with awful rebound anxiety and feels like the benzo wd's are coming up, alot of the benzo effects should be gone right? Because valium has a half life of up to 100-200 hours, but u dont feel the effects anywhere near that long.

Asking this because i want to do some gbl to try andd stop the anxiety, making a coffee then will dose 1ml first to be safe.
 
this was the frst time ive smoked it in months, thought id be ok as i was on 3-4mg xanax (high benzo tolerance usually have to take more but it feels like the xanax wore off a while ago (11 hour half life but i guess the effects dont last that long, its been 8 hours or so and im getting major rebound anxiety and the start of benzo WD and gbl helps that, but now im all para that gbl wont be a good idea until the xanax is completely out the system, but ive done it the days after lots and valium and been fine, found it even canceld out some of gbl effects, but i need something right now to get rid of this very intense rebound anxiety, almost panic attacking.

also the paranoia started after caining alot of stims too much, got to the point where i started getting it sober, like always about the same, i seem to be fine aslong as i dont go near something thats actually a stimulant or weed but now its got intense, along with the benzo wd which i think is starting to come up again, has anyone else find xanax wd appear in only 6-7 hours after the last dose?
 
Are you accustomed to the effects of GBL? It has a very short duration of action (about one hour/one and a half hour max). Xanax is short lived too.

If I were you I wouldn't rely on GBL for treating your anxiety, I would just change from Xanax to a longer acting benzodiazepine like Klonopin (Rivotril) or Valium.
 
yes v exp with both and high tolerance to both, im only using gbl as im waiting to get put a decent valium taper,first one wasnt working as the doctor didnt understand how high my tolerance, oh well 1ml gbl done (low dose) to see how it is, xanax effects only really last 5 hours or so? think thats why the rebound anxiety (and some minor phsical wds) have hit so hard.
 
did low dose gbl and barely felt it, so looks like the xanax effects have worn off,just sipping a strong coffee and redosing.

How long do people her eusually find the actual effects of xanax last? If you have a high tolerance to them?

fucking withdrawals, was fine just quitting benzos and switching to gbl (i personally can handle gbl wd's, 2-3 days WD max, not nice but better than weeks off benzo hell, oh well another 0.5ml gbl to top up i think.
 
I have quite a little tolerance to benzos, but a few weeks ago I had three packs of alprazolam tabs, and I think for me one .25mg tab lasted no more than 4 or 5 hours.
 
xanax's effects are quite short, maybe 4 hours maybe... and i think its the weed that makes you paranoid.. if i smoke high grade, even on benzos, i can get paranoid..

As for GBL, its annother very bad addiction that you don't want to get into...

as loulou suggested, maybe go for a longer lasting benzo, i would choose valium
 
im just worried that my paranoia is getting a bit out of hand, as starting to get it when sober too, dont want to be put on anti-psyscotics or anyting :(

no as my benzo tolerance is getting to the 100mg diaz, 6mg xanax point, i dont want to continue with benzos, and gbl masks all wd's
 
phatass is right, I didn't notice your cannabis use, you should stop it or drastically reduce it, if you don't want to be put later on antipsychotics like you're saying. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-weed at all, but the culprit of your paranoia is evident, so be responsible, man. That goes the same way for your benzos abuse, not good at all... I don't want to be judging you, far from that, but look at the facts, man.

edit: I see your last post, be very careful with GBL, it's nothing to play with too...
 
nah, as i said before i dont smoke weed, i smoked it for the first time today in like 5-6 months, it was meph abuse that gave me paranoia.
 
The weed and benzo WD together might be exacerbating your paranoia.

I know some people when in acute heroin WD will not want to imbibe weed. I'm the exact opposite, weed makes everything better.

Try to save the green for after the Xanax WD is at least half way over, good luck!
 
Sorry bignbrown, I didn't read right, as long as you do a supervised Valium taper with a doctor, all is ok. Just don't rely on the GBL for helping you with that, you wont go anywhere with this drug.
 
i know that for a fact, but i need to get a proper taper just need to get my docs to understand how high my benzo tolerance is (8mg xanax and i still cant sleep). GBL Wd is nothing compared to benzo wd in my exp, 2-3 days of hell yes but then u start feeling better/
 
ive had wd's from xanax as short as 6 hours after a dose. i read you were going to make coffee in an earlier post....stay away from caffeinated beverages. if you dont have access to long acting benzos...go to a doctor or urgent care center and say you are having wd's from alcohol.
 
just a quick question, are gaba b and gaba a cross tolerant? itdoesnt fell like they are, plus also would gaba b drugs like gbl protect about dangerous benzo effects such as seizures? thanks,

Gbl is sorting everything out, and i know the danger of gbl addiction but ive been through it before and can handle it better than benzo wd, its 2-3 days of horrible wd then u feel fine, usually fine 3 days after, not the weeks of benzo hell.
