Marriage.

I don’t want to be holding onto the sleeve of some man,
his yellow skin shinning
you must be crazy to think you know which way
the wind blows

I look for you in all the right places
contortionists,
action theory
some weird earthquakes in the living room,
some weird voodoo. Could be yoga.

I don’t shave my legs much since baby died,
but he says he’ll marry me.
we’d try again, or something
what are the chances?

Bimbos.

“He’d go to Argentina,” he says
what’s so amazing about that?
I paid a twenty five dollar cover charge
at Bimbo’s Deluxe. the floor smelt
like caustic soap.

...

someone calls me by my Christian name,
Not yer seniorita, I say,
he smiles like a real estate agent.
I know when I’m being brushed off.
my dress sticks to my back.
nylon, hey.

Very cool stuff. I'm a sucker for Melbourne references.

Seriously though, I'd like to read more!
