I'm a lifelong footy fan, played to a decent level as a youth...but I've always disliked International footy and the 'fans' it attracts (bi-annual footy watchers / nationalist types etc)...I'm also aware plenty of fine people get on board with it too...just not me...always find the quality sorely lacking compared to club footy too

Anyway, Sunday's final will be a good diving contest :) - both sides have demonstrated admirable proficiency there for sure. Listen to the commentary...when the Italians do it it will be "disgusting...cheats...cynical etc" yet England doing the exact same will be "clever...cute...intelligent play" and so on, lol
 
I'm not a footy fan. I find watching a bunch of overpaid primadonnas frankly disgusting.

However, I can still muster a smidgen of national pride when we get this far in a competition.

But to hear our 'fans' booing the opposing team's National anthem just highlights what a bunch of fuckin cunts England fans are.

I understand that and it's a view I've heard a lot. I also find the level of £££ in the game kinda disturbing.

The vast majority footballers aren't high earners though - most don't make it as pro's at all. The one's who do earn the big bucks are typically working class lads who through a mix of extreme sporting talent and incredible levels of hard work and sacrifice have risen to the very peak of their profession.

The £££ in the game is dictated by market forces, not the players fault.

How about Tennis players? Golfers? Baseball players? Actors? Musicians?

etc... the footballers are a bit of an easy target imho

Yes, you're right. It's not just footballers that are paid ridiculous sums of money for hitting balls around.

But when the NHS staff get a minuscule share in a token George cross award that they'll never see, it really takes the piss.

I get your drift, but the two aren't linked - just market forces

Of course nurses etc are hugely underpaid, but that's not the sportpeople's fault, or the actors etc, but yeah it's clearly fucked up, but life isn't fair it's clear

Anyway idgaf who wins on Sunday - I might honestly prefer Italy to win just so we are spared the months of media bombardment should England dive better ,er, win
 
Don’t worry, the media need all the distraction they can get atm. They need an England win.

That’s why they tested out the energy weapon lined up for any Italian players going through on goal on Christian Erikson just to make sure it works.

Im not a big fan of football either but I find it funny as fuck when we boo the opposition national anthem.
The more offensive something is the funnier I find it.

Nah, they're not normal fans - low rent motherfuckers mainly. It was really noticable which Premier League clubs fans booed the taking of a knee. Small town clubs with right wing affiliations like Burnley for instance.

I'd say a good 80% of actual footy fans cringe at the booing of the knee-taking nonsense - hardly supporting the team is it - given that the team chooses to do it. It

International footy fans have a much larger knobhead-to-ok ratio than club football does. It attracts a lot of nationalist types, and also a lot of people who know fuck all about the sport and just surface every two years for international tournaments

It does sicken me soon as I see the unconscious most unintelligent breed of public Icons and idols kneeling on puppet strings with pride without an actual faint clue what they are really supporting- political extremism camouflaged as a freedom movement and cunning social engineering.

But Lewis Hamilton in tears of joy to have discovered his destiny to campaign as a figurehead for BLM is even more revolting to me. These people simply don’t have their own minds, I really mean that literally too.
