The photographs tell the story. A two-year-old boy is forced to inhale marijuana smoke. After looking at the pictures, police arrested the boy's mother and her boyfriend.

Eighteen-year-old Kristin Brewster and 22-year-old George Lavare are charged with endangering the welfare of a child. They are both in jail.

The woman who turned the couple into police calls the incident traumatizing. “He could have died in there. He could have went into seizures, anything.”

The photographs are shocking. Destiny Haust took them herself, stunned at what was going on in her own home. She said, “They seen the reaction on my face and she asked me, ‘Don’t you smoke weed with your kids?’ and I said no. And she said, ‘Why not? It puts them to sleep and calms them down,’”

Haust says Kristin Brewster was a friend who was staying with her at her mobile home George Lavarein Seneca Falls. But she says she had never seen her treat her two-year-old boy or her six-month-old baby, like this.

The photos show Brewster and her boyfriend George Lavare forcing her little boy to smoke at times, even blowing it into his mouth.

Haust says as Brewster did that, the little boy tried to push her away. She says he just wanted attention. “All he wanted was to be held. He just kept saying mommy, hold me, mommy, hold me and she kept pushing him away.”

Kristin BrewsterThe manager of mobile home park says Brewster is not allowed to come back.

She calls the photos devastating. “I had to print the pictures for the State Troopers and I was like, “Oh my God’!”

Haust says right after she took them, she drove to see the state police who arrested Brewster and Lavare but Haust is concerned that the damage has already been done. “That little boy put it to his mouth and was smoking it like he was an adult and knew what he was doing. It was sad.”

It's a shame, every time someone does something stupid like this they perpetuate the bullshit drug propaganda machine and keeps shit illegal. We need to be smarter users and better role model for the children on the world.
edit:this might be a repeat of anything story. Good Old Rochester NY

Sick shit.
On the one hand, nobody should be forced to use drugs. Giving drugs to children (including ritalin, in most, but not all, cases) is sick, if you ask me.
On the other hand, they give little shots of strong alcohol to sick children in Mexico, and at least 50 other countries, to "help them sleep" (or shut them up?).
Since alcohol is stronger than marijuana, should the parents really be arrested?

I believe the problem lies in the illegal status of marijuana.
If they were using a legal herb to help their kid sleep, it would never make the news.
END THE sick, dying WAR ON DRUGS NOW!

The issue is not the cannabis, per say, but that children have sensitive, still developing lungs that should not be exposed to any type of smoke.

Haust says as Brewster did that, the little boy tried to push her away. She says he just wanted attention. “All he wanted was to be held. He just kept saying mommy, hold me, mommy, hold me and she kept pushing him away.”

Those imbeciles should not have children.

I think the issue is also the drug and its effects, besides the lung damage. No one should be forced into intoxication. I bet it does calm him down and put him to sleep, but you know what, there are better options for that.

Parent of the year.

This is HORRIBLE...
They should definitely go through counselling of some kind...like drug education.

This reminds me of a story my friend told me that one of his mothers friends used to put opium oil underneath the childrens fingernails occasionally to make them docile or fall asleep if they were being too blah...

There's nothing wrong for adults to partake in smoking marijuana. But to force/teach a 2 year old toddler to smoke is just wrong. First of all I don't think anyone should start smoking ganja until they are around the age of 18 or older. The brain is still developing at those young ages and its better to be safe then sorry.

and don't believe all of accusations made by the photographer. please. i know even BLers like to shriek "think of the children!" but we have no idea if she was lying to make her accusation "more important" or if she simply has a bad perception of their parenting style. nobody lets their kids on their lap EVERY single time htey say "mommy mommy", we have no context, we have no clue what happened, so let's not judge based on the hearsay

the parents are doing what has been done for thousands of years. sometimes with opium tincture, sometimes with a little alcohol, now that society is using cannabis i find that a good step forward from freaking alcohol to calm a baby down. i don't think i'd give my (future) baby drugs, but in the past this was mainstream accepted behavior. so let's not be so quick to judge either

Thats pretty fucked up, I started smoking weed at 12 and I feel like starting at such an age had a negative impact on my mental health, I can't imagine what would happen to a 2 year old brain.

I do agree with dragynfyr saying its a bit over the top to say the kid could of died or whatever but its not the point, this kid shouldn't have been given weed and I don't think that people who would give a 2 year old kid marijuana aren't fit to be parents.

Qwe, just because giving sedatives to kids has been done for ages doesn't mean its right or a smart thing to do, there are plenty of things that used to be the norm that have since been proven to be silly.

Idiots. It's almost as bad as one of my dealers, who has taught his 6 year old son how to load a meth pipe, and how to filter drugs into a needle. Not that he actually gives drugs to his son, but it's still pretty fucked up. :(

I agree.
Context is crucial.
Let's get some more information before we go judging other people.

Also, marijuana is a very gentle drug - far more gentle than some drugs that people legally give their kids, like ritalin. Let's remember that.

i knew someone like that and i called the Children s aid Society on them.
fucking scumbags. having ecstacy parties and weekend long sessions with a child in the house.

you dont fuck around with children. Raise it right or im going to have to support it with my taxes in the future.

Well done! I think it's only a matter of time before the authorities take my dealer's kid away from him... it's such a sad situation. The only reason I haven't reported him myself is because he'll probably find out who dobbed him in and retaliate.

very dangerous for someone to smoke under the age of 18 for one's neurological state. especially in the early stages of development. Mabye if the parents knew such a thing, they wouldn't have done that shit.
