Policy Twitter Drug War Thread.

My Uncle Denny smoked corn silk out of his sandal and rode two pogosticks at the same time right into a dang school bus!

Some really fishy results on this CAMH poll with near a quarter of ONT 7th graders doing diverted prescription opioids. More to come

source

similar poll with far different findings on off script opioids

Why the fuck do they care about diversion of safe supply? That's so nutty. Wow other drug users are getting the safe supply? So terrible

Its like he wants something to complain about
But!!! What if they're basifying it with CaOH to make insoluble calcium hydromorphenate and precipitating it out with ammonia to then purify and add to fentanyl and then sell? You have to think about what's really happening to that one pill.

Thing about that is that hydromorph is showing up in schools. Before safe supply you had to know someone to buy them and they weren't so easily gotten as they're now. Also an 8mg hydromorph is cheaper than a candy bar. You can go to any clinic here and within 30 minutes have people trying to sell theirs, I know I've bought them. I'd say the majority sells them or trade for other drugs.
A few years ago they were more expensive and harder to get in schools. Now they're everywhere.
I don't like my taxes funding someone's fentanyl habit and making it very easy for a 12 year old to get them.
I agree with safe supply but I don't agree with just handing someone a bottle of 30 8mg hydromorph a day.
If they are still testing positive for other drugs they should be cut off imo.
Just like most things but in this case the majority are running it for the ones honestly taking them and not fentanyl.

just when I was starting to think this poll was fake/cracked.

Thing is BC probably has more Safe Supply recipients per capita [hard to find ont stats] and has no spike at all.

This poll polled the same grades at the same time [actually slightly later] in BC as CAMH polled in ONT.. - and shows ~1/5 of the amount despite including more meds, a slight decline from the last poll.

Looks more like dealers very heavily targeting Schools in Ont, esp Junior High / middle school. With grade 7s using [more opioids than!] grade 12s in Ont - one must wonder if they are selling to even younger kids, since grade 7 was youngest on the poll. Why?

this will keep the debunkers busy. [edit] yeah I found some potential bunk when comparing with other surveys, will update.

the survey was from nimby outfit CAMH and this looks fake as fuck - more grade 7 took prescription opiates than grade 12?
As usual no interest in fent ect, not even on the poll..

The new street fentanyl here in Ontario has people so addicted that hydromorph isn't covering them. I've heard they are starting giving people fentanyl patches where they have to bring in used ones to get new ones. That would probably work better
