TV: The Sarah Silverman Program

^ what if she were to say Hillary Clinton is a fat , loud , annoying lezbo. Would that upset you?? just curious:)

It's one thing to wish death upon a politician. They hold some sway over your life. But an entertainer?

Lacy's just a big playa hata if you ask me.

I like how I aint been mentioned in any post but yours and no one responded to your post about me and youre still talkin about me. and you talk about me hatin :D

Anyways for the record.... I hate sarah silverman becuz she fucking sucks shit-n-pubic-lice-covered monkey balls. It aint got shit to do with the skin flaps she got between her pencil legs or the amount of success money or recognition she got. She just sucks point blank period . In my opinion that anybody is free to disagree with.

PS.....If there is any other 'successful women' I hate , you might start to notice a pattern of them sucking. That is the common bond there....their level of success is jus some irrelevant shit on the side. You can suck in all income brackets, the hate aint restricted just to the skanks with jobs.;)

"Recently, my boyfriend and I have been discussing having children together.

But I just turned 35 years old, so getting pregnant isn't entirely safe for me.

Because as everyone knows, the best time to get pregnant is when you're a black teenager."

-- Sarah Silverman

Lacey, please tell me ONE stand-up joke written by a woman EVER, that is, IN YOUR OPINION, funnier than the one I posted above.

Lacey, I am a professional comic, and I have personally discussed the "Who Are The Best Comics In The Business" issue countless times with dozens of the best comics in the country, and VIRTUALLY EVERY SINGLE PROFESSIONAL COMIC (MALE or FEMALE) I have spoken to considers Sarah to be, if not THE best, at the very least, ONE OF THE BEST female stand-up comics OF ALL TIME.

Her delivery and timing are virtually perfect, and the quality of her writing is almost unparalleled.

Yes, she uses shock value more than some people like, but her joke writing and her stage presence are undeniably phenomenal.

If you don't agree, then, in my opinion, the mature thing to do would be to:

(1) Stay silent on the subject; OR

(2) Post WHY you consider her stand-up to be overrated.

But you did neither; rather, you posted a bunch of nonsense such as:

Lacey said:

becuz she fucking sucks shit-n-pubic-lice-covered monkey balls

Oh wait - maybe you were just trying to be funny by using shock value.

HINT: Next time, try including a punchline.

A person as schooled in comedy as you constantly remind us that you are, should be able to understand the simple concept that humor is subjective.:)

As far as that joke goes, I dont find that shit funny so the answer to the challenge there would be , fill in the blank with a random joke from another female comedian. Im sorry that you disagree but I dont got time to battle with somebody who honest to god believes that theres a objective measuring stick for a intangible thing.

Technically, you're right, Lacey - humor IS subjective.

That said, sometimes, someone is SOOOOO fucking good at something, that even though there's no "objective measuring stick," just about every expert in the field finds it obvious that that individual is among the greatest.

And just as just about every literature buff would concede that Shakespeare was a genius, just about every comic concedes the same about Ms. Silverman.

You're free to disagree, Lacey, but, as EA opined above, the stream of vitriol you have spewed in this thread seems to have come more from your own insecurities and envy (which you'll no doubt deny in your next post) than from actual assessment of her comedic abilities.

At the risk of throwing around the "G" word excessively, I'd say that Tina Fey is a comic genius in her own right.

She's an excellent joke-writer (not QUITE as good as Silverman, imo - but still near the front of the pack), and her onstage presence is absolutely off the charts.

Her dead-on Palin impression belongs in the Hall of Fame, and will be talked about for decades.

Here's a recommendation of a under-appreciated female comic who is an excellent joke-writer:

Bonnie McFarlane.

Thank you, sincerely, for actually encouraging me to talk about comedy.

Remove all the jokes that are about "taboo" subjects, then remove the toilet humor . . .

is there anything left of the show?

wow.

I can't believe this analogy. Seriously.

Sarah, is that you?

I totally agree.
I don't know if anyone in the UK saw her appearance on The Johnathon Ross show with Gordon Ramsay as the other guest but literally none of the audience got her jokes and the whole show sort of fell on deaf ears until she finally showed up Gordon Ramsay by licking one of his expensive truffles.

To me, just not comedy.
Also, seen her show on Paramount (not sure the US equivalent) and it's just a bore. I'm all for successful and strong women; especially more female comedians but she just doesn't do it for me.

I dislike Shakespeare.
I tried watching Sarah's show maybe twice, but I never finished it.
I find some of her sketches funny....but it's a bit too much at times.

^Agreed.

I like her, but kinda dislike her at the same time. I can never make a solid decision either way.
