tv: The Old Nickelodeon Shows thread

Lots of good shows is this thread! I used to like the Mysterious Cities of Gold a lot and didn't see anyone list it yet. A little poking around google to find the name of the show I just mentioned and and found this site on classic nick shows. Shitty website, but interesting synopsis of most shows mentioned in this thread.

I remember just about all the shows mentioned in this thread because I was a Nick junkie. I don't remember the one you mentioned, Finder. :( I miss them all so much :( :(

mysterious cities of gold was one of my favorite shows.... i would have mentioned it but i was really convinced that i made it all up in my head because no one else i have ever talked to about it has ever seen it or remembered it
and i could never look it up because i didnt remember the name

it was set in prehistoric times, but the people had been sent there through some kind of time travel
(when the show is coming on you see the peoples car falls into a crack in the ground from an earthquake)
the family lived in a tree, and they had a pet monkey or something

I have a vague memory of watching this show, but have no idea what it's called :\

Sharon Lois and Fran (sometimes called 'The Elephant Show')

Nobody ever remembers this show, and it was one of my favorites for some reason. But I think it was Bram, not Fran. ;)

^ ha ha ha. I must have been the dorkiest kid ever :)

I do remember almost all those shows you've got listed, and I especially liked David the Knome as well. My other favorites were Doug, Rocco's Modern Life and Inspector Gadget. Isn't it amazing how kids' brains are like sponges? Just reading these lists of shows makes me realize I know waaaay too many of their theme songs!

btw, Amy, I am doing fine. Andy and I are going to be parents next year (in May) but the reality of that hasn't really sunk in yet. I guess I will be watching a lot more kid's shows soon :)

Fraggle Rock was an HBO show if I recall...then transferred to Nick for reruns.

Muppet Babies was on CBS saturday mornings until it did daily runs on Nick.

That's quite the awesome list you've compiled there Amor. I was gonna say "how could you not list Double Dare?!" until I saw your second reply. ;) GUTS is a guilty pleasure of mine as well...pretty much every single one of those obstacle game shows are.

Which brings me to a random mention of an old show similar to those...Fun House...though I believe that ran under syndication and not on Nick.

Land of the Lost...*shudder*

Horrid, horrid show.

I hate when I have fond memories of a show and then start to think that I had made the whole thing up in my head. I knew the name of the show partially and just searched google a bit before I turned it up.

I get the same feeling everytime I get into a discussion of old cartoons w/ buddies and I mention "Jase and the Wheeled Warriors."

You're definitely making that one up. :D

I thought I had dreamed up Silverhawks before there was someone who validated me in an old Lounge thread about favorite cartoons. BTW, I saw your link, but didn't actually check it so I didn't know it was the same site. :p=D

There is a Nick show that I am afraid I have invented or have created a show out of a collection of memories about other shows. I have NO clue what it was about, except I remember a group of people would gather in a living room type area with a door on the right side. They would come in and out of that door but rarely would life beyond that door be shown.

GRRR

LOL yeah i know, it sounds like that, but it definitely wasn't.. there was definitely a non-human character or two. lol
