I just so happened to catch the odd episode a while ago and really enjoyed it. And naturally it escalated out of control and now I can't stop watching it :!. It's really quite good :o

lol, yes it is addicting. when i first caught it on demand, i couldn't stop watching. and ditto on alice! she is adorable! i really can't stand tina though. something about her...just, no.


i haven't looked, but was this the last season?? i hope not.
 
Hmm, I kinda get what you mean about Tina. Not really keen on Bette either really. She's just a bit too cold for me.

There's 4 seasons to date. Though apparently the third season was pants and I don't think the fourth got very good reviews either. But I'm not sure if it's the last.

On March 9, 2007, Showtime announced the pick-up of a fifth season of The L Word, for 12 episodes, touting the show as "a signature franchise among our viewers." Production began in the summer of 2007 and will premier "sometime in early 2008."

the 3rd season was quite sad....won't spoil it for ya if you haven't seen it, but i'm pretty bummed going into my last disc of season 3. :( i can't wait to get the 4th season on disc and looking forward to the season 5 episodes. :)

Hmm, yeah it was sad. But I just sensed something extremely different about the third series. It was almost like they brought in a bunch of different writers, producers, directors etc and came up with a script that didn't relate to the characters that I grew to love. They all seemed really different and there was just something...wrong IMO :\

And on a side note, I just wanna mention how much Pam Grier cracks me up in it. I mean, she's a black woman. And she doesn't know how to play a black woman very well. She seems like she's playing a watered down version of a character from one of her old blacksploitation movies. I always expect her to enter a scene and go, "yo!. Like, I'm DOOOWN motherfuckers". It'd be so cool if she played it more like this:

I know what you mean about it being cringe worthy though. I pretty much dismissed the show before I even saw it. I just hated all the promotional shit. The way they tried to make it look like Sex And The City for lesbians. I just hated the very idea of it. Don't get me wrong, it is cheesy. But there's a lot of it which is actually really good. Or maybe we might have to disagree on something for a change, CC ;)

i love the new season. i can't stand jenny, am in love with alice, and still think tina is ugly and a horrible actress. loved the charlies angels clip :D
 
Huh, looks like you guys beat me to it. I was gonna bump this myself today.

Currently watching season 5 online. To tell you the truth, I thought it was gonna be another season 3 i.e shit. And after season 4 was so cool I was ready to dismiss it all over again. But I gave it a chance, and after episode 2 or 3 it picked up.

I dunno DM I'm a little in love with Jenny at the moment. She's turned into this completely stuck up bitch and she kinda makes the show for me right now. I didn't like her when the show first started. I thought she was a bit prissy and they tried to make her seem like this sweet vulnerable type, but she only ever came across as being really annoying. As for Tina, yeah, I can't say I'm overly keen on her or Bette. It's bad enough watching Bette argue at the best of times, but now she uses fucking sign language as well.

I felt sorry for Jenny in the season 5 finale. She's become my favourite over the last few seasons.

ugh. i've barely progressed from when i last posted (can't be bothered to look at the date), which is i've finished season 3 on disc and have just bought season 4. haven't opened it yet, but when i actually got "introduced" to the show, it was at the tail-end of season 4. so i still have to catch up...but i was at the point where the military girl got introduced. i'm anxious to see all this build-up. :)

where can i view season 5 online??
