tv: Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles

I caught an episode of this the other night. The Sarah Connor character is terribly mis-cast, she only looks about ten years older than her supposed son and after what Linda Hamilton did with this role, this piece fluff just doesn't stand a chance.

In fact, the only decent character in this is the robot, but then I guess it's not that challenging acting like a robot.

I think this show only made it on because of the writer strikes and the network had to have something to show.

the show's been in the pipeline well before the writer's strike.. the main characters were cast over a year before the strike occurred. it's probably done better ratings-wise due to less competition however

and yeah the actors who play Sarah and John are only 14 years apart so she doesn't really come off as a mother.. in the last episode there was actually some weird sexual chemistry in one scene

the show is fine during the action sequences imo but definitely lacks in the emotional acting dept. they should just stick to the chases and stuff imo

^ Yeah, I caught half of the first episode last night (recoded it on Sky+) and my impression was pretty much the same. There was definitely sexual chemistry going on which didn't really seem appropriate... and yes, the age difference is not pronounced enough for Sarah's character to work.

I'll watch the first few episodes and see where it goes.

I've been enjoying the show, to be honest. I mean, considering the garbage we've been fed on television in the past few years, it's not that bad. It's definitely way better than The Bionic Woman (which was mercifully cancelled). Besides, I love Summer Glau. She was great in Firefly, and she's great in this show (although, they are basically the same role).

man last night's ep was kinda weak.. they need to stop trying to do "emotional" scenes between john and sarah

Oh I knew had seen her somewhere before! Firefly was an OK show, I didn't mind it. She's gorgeous that girl.

I watched this last night but fell asleep during it.

summer glau is the only reason (my pants feel tight, when) i watch the show.

well i guess last night was the "season finale" since they were the last few episodes written before the writers strike

when the show is good i really like it but when it's bad i really hate it.. it has a fair amount of both though lol

I enjoyed the season finale. It was a good way to spend my Monday night. I especially loved the use of Johnny Cash during the climax. They couldn't have picked a better song.

linda hamilton was/is the only Sarah connor. i just cant get into the show, who cares if it's supossed to tie the 2nd and 3rd films together. and with the 4th film coming out the only good actor init so far is Sam Worthington (aussie actor)
