SugarRay gets taste of reality!

The rock band will participate in "On the Road," a reality show for Spike TV, singer Mark McGrath told The Associated Press Monday.

"We thought what the world needs now is another reality show," McGrath joked. The show, set to air this summer, follows eight contestants who go on tour with Sugar Ray. They compete for a job with a music label and a new Kia car.

"I describe it as 'The Apprentice' meets 'The Real World,' " McGrath said.

He said contestants learn the ropes of the music industry, from tuning guitars to promoting Sugar Ray's concerts. At the end of each episode, the band fires one person.

McGrath said each losing contestant will have to "walk the Walk of Shame," a term Sugar Ray uses for a band or crew member who brings a "paramour onto the bus for the night."

"When they leave, they have to take the 'Walk of Shame' to the front door," he said. "It can't be pretty."

McGrath said the band's antics also will be featured.

"We've never had any concerns before about our reputation, why start now?" he joked.

I think it looks promising & I always enjoyed "backstage life" if you will. LINK

i honestly didn't know that sugar ray were still together. regardless, i won't be watching this show. mark mcgrath always bothered me.

He was cool till he started wearing that black hat all the time. The whole band are really cool people. Got to party with them about 3 years ago when they played a show with "Fastball" here in jax. Very nice guys & you wouldnt believe they were much harder before "fly" hit. They were a big supporting band during the early 90's metal scene in LA.

are musicians like nick and jessica, dave navvaro and mark mcgrath really that bored that they need their lives film?
or are they great artists expanding their horizons and strech what their art encompasses?

Will this be called "Bands That Sold Their Souls to the Devil for Money"?

I only say that because before their big "break"...they were just a shitty hardcore band that heavily lightened their image to attract 12 year-olds to Mr. McGrath and completely went the other way musically to appease the masses. BOO ON YOU, McGrath...but damn if you didn't get laid by tons of hot women for it.

Lemonade n Brownies forevah....

Stark is the coolest motherfucker in my book for that!

Don't ya dare mess with my mean machine! Its long & thick & olive green!
