Tv: "nip/tuck"

Haven't seen it. But my friend said he saw nipple on that show. Sounds interesting to me!

i havent even heard of it. what is it about? plastic surgery? what channel? now i am interested in this show of yours Andi, do tell.....

I watched the first episode and I won't watch it again. Some people don't mind seeing blood and guts and tissue but I have NO desire to see that. I thought I was going to puke. And I didn't like any of the characters. I couldn't care less what happened to any of them.

I watched the first episode and don't remember names but it went something like this:

Dr. 1 and Dr. 2 have a plastic surgery practice. Dr. 1 is married and has 2 kids. Dr. 2 is not married. He is in love with Dr. 1's wife.

Dr. 2 agrees to do work on man who was a child molester. I am not sure if he had ever gone to jail or what the details are. I am also not sure if Dr. 2 knew about the molestation before agreeing to the surgery but I think he did know, and did it for the big $$$.

Dr. 1 is going through a crisis. He wants to start doing pro bono work. He wants to work on people who have been in fires and car accidents and have bad scarring. Dr. 2 thinks that is dumb because they have worked so hard to make lots of $$$. Dr. 1 basically "quits" the practice. Dr. 2 points out a clause in their original contract from years before saying that if one doctor wants out of the practice, he must pay a lot of $$$. So Dr. 1 doesn't know what to do.

Dr. 1's wife is going through her own crisis. She has always wanted to go to med school and thought she would once the two kids were grown. But now that Dr. 1 wants to do pro bono work, she won't be able to go to med school. Dr. 1 and his wife pretty much hate each other's guts by this point.

Dr. 2 visits Dr. 1's wife to talk about a boob job she wants done. She takes off her shirt to show him her breasts and Dr. 2 practically starts crying because he loves her so much and thinks her breasts are so amazing that they make him almost pass out. I think he touched them a bit, too.

Eventually, Dr. 2 goes to do some botox work on a bunch of prostitutes. But it's a set-up. Some guys find out that he did work on the child molestor and they want to punish him and find out where the child molestor is. I don't know how they are all connected. Anyway, they inject botox all over Dr. 2's body (including his penis) but Dr. 2 won't tell where the bad guy is because he knows that the bad guy is with Dr. 1 and he doesn't want Dr. 1 to get hurt. But somehow (don't remember how) the bad guys find bad guy and Dr. 1. Dr. 1 is doing more surgery on bad guy but I can't remember if it's because he didn't know that bad guy is a bad guy or what. Anyway, during liposuction, bad guy's brother unplugs something and all this fat starts going all over the place. And bad guy's brother basically kills bad guy because he realized that bad guy will molest again.

Then the other bad guys and Dr. 2 walk into the room and realize bad guy is dead and everyone is happy. Dr. 1 and Dr. 2 are left alone (with the dead body that they have to clean up themselves). They take the dead body to a swamp, tie a bunch of meat to it, and drop it into the swamp and it gets eaten by alligators.

I think (if I remember correctly) the doctors agree to stay together but to take on a certain percentage of pro bono cases. Things with wife are unresolved. And other side story: dr. 1's son (a teenager who wears too much makeup) wants a circumcision because he wants to have sex with his girlfriend and think's his un-cut penis is ugly and weird.

End of episode 1. I know there are lots of holes but I watched it a few weeks ago.

I can't believe I typed all that.

I watched it for the first time last night. Wow, I wasn't expecting it to be so dramatic. There were some amusing parts, though - like how the cadaver head was talking to him.
In the episode last night, the doctor's girlfriend (who he was having an affair with) commits suicide because she has cancer...and after the funeral his wife confronts him and he admits to his affair...
like I said, very dramatic, but interesting. I will watch again.

Ooh...yeah I'm addicted. I don't even know why I like it so much-- I'm like a bug drawn to a zapper. I know the one doc is the same guy that was in Charmed (I didn't even think he was that great looking then), but when I saw him for the first time in this show all I could say was DAMN!

IM hooked. Great actors and writing.
I always blaze some greens before viewing and it tends to get me extremely philosophical. To me its sign of brilliance when you start pondering faith/religion/moral values and what not while watching a TV show.
The gross out value should be enough to turn some people off to spending money on unnecessary plastic surgery.

this is quite possibly - no, definitely - my favorite television show of all time. absolutle brilliant imo.

the characters all have these insane plots revolving around them. for example the wife of doctor 1 now thinks their son may actually be doctor 2's, goes to confront him about it, and ends up not saying anything because doctor 2 tells her he's having a child after a 1 night stand with this chick he met in a sex addiction group. meanwhile, the son and his friend got stoned, hit a girl while driving home and put her in the hospital with serious disfiguring injurys that his dad has to fix pro bono because her parents don't believe in anything but prayer for healing. anyway - no one knows who did it, so he gets off without punishment, but he deals with his guilt by visiting her every day and when she finally heals, becomes her trusted friend while his friend never deals with the guilt and is going nuts. crazy f*cked up.

other highlights -
the son tries to circumsize himself
the mother flushes her daughters gerbal
they (unknowingly) remove incriminating evidence on a child molesting priest
doctor 2 trades his girlfriend for a car
it goes on and on.

definitely recomend, awesome show, best thing on tv by far - fx tuesday nights

btw, the blood and guts is very minimal. there is usually one scene per episode that shows surgery/blood, and it may be graphic, but its not really a huge part of the show.

yea the writers for this show kick ass.

csi has some good writers too. that show teaches you alot. like how to not get caught for murder :)

The bloodiest part I've seen so far is when they were fixing that girls (with the multiple personalities) gross legs.
I thought it was weird how that girl they hit turned out all beautiful except with a few scars. I guess a lot of time had supposedly passed?

^^not bloody but really freaking gross was when the fat started spraying all over the place when they were doing lipo on the child molestor! That was gross enough for me not to watch again!

This show is great, some topics they touch on are so insane that i'm surprised it gets on television! Have you also noticed they say 'shit' all the time on this television show ? I guess because it is on at 10 they can curse ? Anyways, one of the last ones I saw this woman with cancer took like 30 pills then put a plastic bag over her head and died. The docter helped her get the pills and sat there and watched while she did it! What the fuck! Still a cool show, but damn, SOME subjects (such as commiting suicide because of cancer ) should be taboo. I know too many people who have died of cancer. Other then that one incident nip/tuck rules! It just gets crazier and crazier every episode. I just saw the preview that shows him standing up to the mexican mafia boss with a .45! Series finale! I'm excited.

omg, the season finale was fantastic!! It was soo good. I cannot wait for next season already. did anyone else see it last night?

holy shitballs it was good.
