tv- "john from cincinnati"

I think I have given up on this. The first two episodes barely kept my interest. The third episode was quite good. But this last episode was less than interesting. The acting also drives me crazy. The kid is by far one of the worst actors I have seen in an HBO series. I want to go crazy whenever this kid is in a scene. Rebecca Demourne (sp?), although a decent actress, I feel overacts her part. It may just be me, i dont know.

I am giving it one more episode.

yes, that kid is godawful. so is kai, the chick. and last night rebecca totally went overboard in her acting too. i didn't dig it too much. hopefully it picks up a bit.

The third episode was pretty good, but the last one really sucked. Way too much over and underacting by the characters. Did the grandmother really need to scream that fucking much? And please get rid of that kid. I know it's been said before, but he is awful. Hopefully the next episode can redeem this show, or else I'm done.

i watched up through the current ones just to give it a fair shake. i'm sorry to say this show sucks. HBO is slowly losing their grip on my monthly fee.

I got lost at the end where john was talking a lot.

I think i am going to watch that episode again to get the whole effect of whats going on.

Damn you HBO. I watched the first 3, and wanted to see week 4 and 5 turned to my OnDemand only to find they only have week ones episode on there, fucking whores!

It still wont make a lot of sense, I watched it for the 2nd time last night:\

I give up. I just give up. The only reason I have been watching is because there is nothing else on Sunday night at 9:00pm.

Well, it does appear that they are going to kill the kid off. That will make the show, as a whole, more enjoyable.

But I am losing patience. I agree with the above poster, I wouldn't even watch it except that Sunday is my big tv day, and there is nothing else on. I just can't wait till Dexter comes back.

I don't think the kid's gonna die. If he does, that would make some of the characters completely pointless.

Are you guys watching Flight of the Conchords? I'm not really into their music, but the show is pretty damn funny. The awkward unexpected dialog is great.

That show is fucking hilarious! It's not my kind of music either, but I gotta admit that some of those songs are really funny. The song about "Boom Boom" had me nearly pissing my pants! Also, their manager guy is really funny.

I also don't think the kid on JFC is going to die. I think he is going to go with his mother and hook up with Link(Luke Perry). I still can't decide if I like the show or not though. It has flashes of near greatness, but they just can't seem to pull it all together in a coherent manner. A lot of the problem is the acting though, it's suprisingly bad for an HBO show, and it might be so bad that the show can't get past it. We'll see I guess.

love the show.

but is it just me, or do they talk like the people in deadwood? if you have not noticed, listen for it.

Nightfun - now that you mention it, the dialog between the characters does remind me of Deadwood - maybe that is because they have several actors from that show (the doctor & the drug dealer from Hawaii). Do they utilize the same writers?

The acting is terrible . . .
