tv: Iron Chef

The almost rediculous pomp and circumstance of the original Iron Chef is one of the things that make it so much fun to watch. it's done so seriously that it renders itself absolutely rediculous - from the biting of the pepper at the begining to the almost colliseum/gladiator like pageantry of the final decision.

I am always half waiting for the loser to commit hari-kari during the final credits.

what?^ you mean like... the pepper biting and capes... the rising chefs admist steam and grandous music? please! thats the best part :) i wish there was more in american iron chefbut, alas, it would be a faliure and all with the cheese here in the u.s.
